Ricky May 04, 2011 for Model Number ed5chqxtboo My Refrig is not defrosting at all. It built a big block of ice in freezer in front of evaporator. I think may be the heater or the defrost thermostat that usually goes next to the heater, but I didn't see it in the diagram. Could you help me to find out the problem?
1 Answer Hello Ricky. You can test the heater and the defrost thermostat WPW10225581 to see if they are good. They should read closed for continuity when cold. If they are open, you will need to replace them. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
