Jason July 08, 2013 for Model Number 11096588410 Can someone show me how to change the heating element?
1 Answer Hello Jason! Once you've removed power to the dryer you will need to release the clips holding the toe panel in place.. The element is behind the toe panel under the drum on the right side. You'll need to disconnect the wires to the heater element terminal block. Remove the 1/4" hex head screw holding the bracket / shield to the base of the dryer and the 1/4" hex head screw holding the heater box bottom panel to the bracket, and remove the bracket/shield assembly. Remove the 1/4" hex-head screw from the side of the heater housing (located between the element terminal block and the hi limit thermostat), and slide the heater out of the duct. Reverse the procedure to install the new heater assembly. Read More...

Michael July 02, 2013 for Model Number 11063022101 My dryer runs but is not throwing any heat what so ever. Is this a heating element or Thermostat issue?
1 Answer Hello Michael. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Denise June 01, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Dryer (3387747 Heating Element) I replaced the heating element in my dryer about a year ago and it burnt out again. Should I replace other parts as well? Such as the thermistor and the thermofuse?
1 Answer Denise, We wouldn't expect the fuse or the thermistor to be an issue. but you do need to check the wiring and the wiring terminals, make sure they fit tight when you install them onto the element terminals. You also need to check the exhaust vent pipes and vent hood and the blower and lint filter housings, excess heat due to improper air flow can create a "weak" spot in the heater element. Read More...

1 Answer Mike, You will want to check the venting of the unit to make sure that it is not clogged or restricted. A clogged or restricted vent will cause the issue you are having and longer drying cycles. Read More...
