Robin February 24, 2014 For this particular part, at least with MY Whirlpool dryer, it's not necessary to remove the back panel. You open the front. There's a receptacle/housing for the heating element in the front, lower right section. You unscrew the cover, unplug the wires, slide out the old element and replace with the new. If I hadn't done this before, I would have been pretty upset, upon removing the back panel, that there was no heating element where the video claims I'll find one. How about another video showing the other element placement (in front, lower right section)??

Guest January 12, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 WHIRLPOOL DUET DRYER What should I check/replace for a dryer that has weak heat, it's taking about 100 minutes to dry clothes on high heat. The wife is nagging me to get it fixed!
1 Answer Hello. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Chris December 25, 2013 for Model Number 11082826102 Hello, I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 that is not heating up at all. Would this be the heating element or is there another part failing to work properly that's causing the dryer not to heat up. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Chris. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
