Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Drain Hose (Part Number: OEM18018660)

Hello John, Because of the limitations of the abilities of the machine to pump out, it is not advised to extend the drain this long. This will cause siphoning and will not produce a satisfactory wash result. The drain would actually need to be put into a drain line the size used in the average home, (4 to 6 inches in diameter), with a proper air gap in order to work correctly.

YOYO, I believe you have a cracked or loose "tub to pump hose" WPY212989. It is a separate part of the drain system in the washer and a pretty quick easy repair, except for the water spillage. You don't have a "drain solenoid" but, you do have a belt driven drain pump with a hose going out the back of the washer to the drain standpipe. Replace the hose and you should be fine. Thanks and Good Luck.
