Alan April 26, 2020 for Model Number ED5JHEXTQ00 Does the repair kit AP6016628 come with the two wiring harnesses (as shown in the video)? And I also need the lower bracket that attaches to the ice maker item 19 of the parts diagram.
1 Answer Alan, the ice maker WPW10190965 would not include the multiple wires seen in the video as the video is a general repair assistance source. Usually, the parts that are in good condition would be transferred over to the new ice maker. The bracket for the ice maker is part number W11500948 Read More...
John March 03, 2020 for Model Number ED5FVGXWS00 Leaking towards door side of ice maker Do I need to replace ice maker?
1 Answer John, if the ice maker WPW10190965 is not overfilling and is leaking through the tray, it would need to be replaced. However, if it is overfilling, the fill tube would need to be inspected for signs of the fill valve W10408179 leaking by. If it is not showing signs of leaking by, the ice maker will need to be put into a harvest mode by jumping the ice maker module terminal H to terminal T. Once the ice maker clicks, the jumper would need to be removed and the harvest observed. Once the ice maker fills with water, it should only fill for 8 seconds. If the valve is supplied voltage for more than 8 seconds, the ice maker has failed. If the valve continues to supply water after voltage has stopped, the valve has failed. Read More...
Michael October 30, 2019 for Model Number W10190965 Why do I have to buy a whole ice maker, when I only need a new control module?
1 Answer Hello Michael, without a model number we can not look up the parts list for your model to check if the control module is available separately, on the other hand, if you have already accessed your model's parts list and the ice maker is only available as a complete assembly then that is what the manufacturer supplies for your model. Bryan November 19, 2018 for Model Number TS25AFXKQ03 I have an old estate refrigerator that previously was not connected to a water supply for possibly at least 10 years, possibly never (?) I have connected water lines, and replaced the tubing, filter, and reconnected the switch that had been disconnected in the door behind the dispenser. The refrigerator dispenses water great! It still does not make ice. I took the ice maker out and the control module is plugged in at the front (thought perhaps someone had disconnected it as well) and the wire module goes directly into the wall of the freezer. No water goes into the fill tray, nothing cycles or anything. Is there somewhere else the unit may have been disconnected? Or do I need to replace the ice maker? Or the water inlet valve? Or both?! When I depress the ice dispenser on the door, the motor to dispense is functioning.
1 Answer Bryan, Put a jumper wire between the T and H terminals of the icemaker module. The icemaker should cycle. When it cycles you will here 2 clicks in which you will want to remove the jumper. Once jumper is removed put a meter between V and N on the icemaker module and when the icemaker fingers get to the 11:30 position the water valve should bring water in so you will need to look for 120 vac at the V to N. If there is not 120 vac then the icemaker would need replaced and if there is 120 vac then the water valve would need replaced. Read More...
