Joe February 25, 2015 for Model Number 11016942502 I broke the water inlet valve assemble in the move.I would like to know how to remove the back cover to get to the valve?
1 Answer Joe, To access the water valve on the unit you will need to use a flat blade screw driver and push up under the front of the control panel endcap. This will release the spring clips and you can roll the control panel up. Once this is done you will want to release the 2 clips holding the rear panel to the maintop. Once released you will disconnect the wire harness to the lid switch and then pull the cabinet off. Read More...
Will January 16, 2015 for Model Number MTW5721TQ0 I ordered a replacement inlet valve #3979346 but there are no screws on the back of the control panel to remove. How do I get the control panel unit off so I can proceed?
1 Answer Hello Will. You will need to use a flat blade and release the clips under the front of the control panel and flip the panel backwards and unplug the lid switch. Then remove the two brass colored clips and slide the cabinet off the frame by pulling it forward. You can now access and replace the valve 3979346 on the unit. Read More...
Fixxer December 28, 2014 for Model Number 11027831600 I need to replace the water inlet valve. There are no screws on the back corner of the control panel. How do I remove it?
1 Answer Hello Fixxer, You will need to remove the cabinet from the unit to access the wires and outlet hose. There should be one screw, (usually 5/16 inch hex head), holding the water valve in position. Read More...
Jeff December 20, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpol mod#LSB6500PW1 When I start the washer , even if I set it for small load ,the water does not stop fill ?
1 Answer Jeff, A quick and easy way to test. Start the washer, while it's filling unplug the power cord from the outlet(watch out for the arc) if the water stops flowing you'll need to check or replace the water level switch and air tube W10339326. If the water continues to flow, the fill valve has a sticky solenoid and will need to be replaced WP3979346. Just be careful and repeat the process a couple of times, to be sure. Read More...
Dave December 14, 2014 for Model Number wtw5840swo Your video shows removing two phillips screws that hold the control panel down enabling me to slid the panel slightly forward to remove. I need to replace the water valve. My machine has no screws holding the panel. How do I remove it to proceed?
1 Answer Dave, On the front corner of the control panel there is a sprig clip on either side that you would use a putty knife and push in on it. Once this is done you pull forward and it will release. Once released on both sides you will then roll the control panel up. Read More...
1 Answer Jose, Unfortunately the thermistor cannot be bypassed on the water valve. This is wired directly into the circuit and the unit will not operate properly without the thermistor in position. Read More...
Don December 04, 2014 for Model Number LSQ9549PW2 I am having a dripping problem when the washer is not being used, I was told it was the water inlet valve and thermister assembly.
1 Answer Hello Don! Yes, that is correct. If the unit is filling with water (dripping water into the unit) when not in use you'll need to replace the inlet valve part number WP3979346. Thanks! Read More...
Volkan July 07, 2014 for Model Number MVWC300VW0 Hot water doesn't flow smoothly during fill up. It fills correctly for about 5-7 seconds, then it sputters erratically...then it fills correctly...then sputters. Warm water does something similar except it cycles the sputtering from warm to cold water. Cold water fills correctly without flaw. I unhooked the hot water line from the washer and filled a bucket to test the water valve/water line and it filled the bucket with a nice smooth flow. Is this a faulty water inlet valve?
1 Answer Volkan, Check the screen on the hot water inlet and make sure that the screen is not clogged. If it is then clean the screen out. If no then the water valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Volkan June 26, 2014 for Model Number MVWC300VW0 Upon water fill, if I select the temperature to warm or hot, the water pulses and causes water hammer issues. The screens on the water inlet valve are clean. Both water lines have no issues when the washer is disconnected and I drain into a bucket. The cold water fill is perfectly fine. This only happens with warm and hot filling cycles. Warm water fill pulses between cold and hot water. Hot water fill pulses on its' own. Warm and hot water fillup causes water hammering. Is this a bad water inlet valve assembly? BTW, this issue has occurred the entire time I've owned the unit. My water pressure is within specs.
1 Answer Hello Volkan, The hammering noise is a phenomenon caused by the home plumbing. There is nothing on the unit that can be replaced to stop the hammering sound. Read More...
Kb June 23, 2014 for Model Number mtw5800tw Hello! When I pull the selector knob out to add water. There is a delay to start filling. The delay can vary from 2 seconds to 15 seconds. Would that be the water inlet valve assembly failing? Thanks for your help
1 Answer Hello KB. It could be the valve. The best way to determine this is to test for power to the water valve when you start the cycle, and then see if there is no water when there is power there. If so, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
