Brendia May 18, 2014 I have a Maytag and a Whirlpool washer that both are not sensing. The Maytag will not drain or spin on the cycles and I have to continue to restart it on differant cycles until it does finally spin out,and then have to do it again. I also have to blow into the hose to help it get started. What can the problem be?
1 Answer Hello Brendia. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Shug M. May 13, 2014 for Model Number cam2752rq0 I have a commercial washer. My questions are, what is the purpose of the thermistor located at end of the water valve? The second question, the washer has a pressure switch. The old one has been replaced now. The new one stays engaged when the machine does not need it. Could you tell me the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Shug, The thermistor on the water valve monitors the water temperature for the wash water so the proper water temperature will be injected into the tub for a proper wash result. The pressure switch has to have power to it all the time so it can pass the voltage to start the wash cycle. If the power were discontinued to the pressure switch when the unit filled, it would shut down at that point. Read More...
Dion March 31, 2014 for Model Number wtw5500sq2 My washer will not switch from hot to cold is this the water inlet valve or temp switch or both?
1 Answer Hello Dion. In most cases it is the temp switch WPW10184148. However, the thermistor on the valve can cause the problem as well. Now, this unit will not change based on the selection. It will change when it deems it is needed through the temp switch. Read More...
Trevor March 12, 2014 Ok what is a thermistor needed for on the water inlet valve? What does it control?
Trevor March 10, 2014 for Model Number cam2742tq3 I want to purchase fill valve for the washer. I have the 2 connectors for the cold and hot solenoid valves and I have 2 wires going into the bottom of the valve. I dont see it on the picture. What do the extra wires do? Do I need them?
1 Answer Hello Trevor. It is a little hard to see in the picture but the is a hookup for the thermistor on the new valve. Part# WP3979346 is the correct valve for your model. Read More...

Rich January 08, 2014 for Model Number WTW5600SQ0 I'm not getting hot water into the machine during fill up. I cycle the temperature switch from cold, cool, warm and hot a few times and I get hot water but at a slower rate than the cold. It cycles from hot to cold during fill up with the pressure much greater when the cold water comes into the machine. I checked the resistance on the water inlet valves and I'm getting 1,000 ohms on each and I understand that means they are working normally. Do you think the problem is the valves are faulty, screen clogged or is it the water temperature switch.
1 Answer Hello Rich, The first suspect is the mechanical workings of the water inlet valve. If it opens once in a while, but only lets part of the water pressure though, as long as the water pressure to that hose is good, the valve WP3979346 has most likely failed. The only way I would suspect the screens to be blocked is if a water heater has been changed recently or there has been another water heater issue. Read More...
Bobby S December 16, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool LSQ9110PW3 washer The washer will not fill with water on the warm setting. It will fill on hot and cold settings.
1 Answer Hello Bobby. If both the hot and cold are working, it sounds like the temp switch WP8564139 may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Yvonne December 02, 2013 for Model Number admiral model number ATW4470TQ0 I had a problem where my machine is not filling with cold water. I replaced the water inlet valve and it worked until I connected the body and put it back in place. Now the machine is still not filling with cold water. What do I check next?
1 Answer Yvonne, You'll need to check the wiring harness W10121436 and the connections to the fill valve WP3979346, especially where the harness passes between the washer top panel and the rear panel. Make sure the harness is inserted through the cut out in the top, and not pinched between the top and the rear panel. Read More...
