Dan November 12, 2013 for Model Number mer6772bab I have a maytag gemini I purchased the element for the top oven lower element and recieved it today and it does not work. I tested the voltage and even with the oven functions off there is 23 volts if I touch the lead i get 77 volts? when I set it to bake or toast ect... I get the same votage? now I'm not going to touch the lead to see what I get with it on! but I still get 23v the new and old element test good (I didn't have my meter when i ordered it) when I test the ohms. all other function work as they should infact the top element works just fine and will heat the oven up it just takes much longer to cook that way. so is this the control board? or some other problem? maybe a wire?
1 Answer Hello Dan. Either the termial block or the receptacle behind the unit is bad and will need to be repaired on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Queen April 11, 2013 for Model Number maytag gemini double oven have replaced oven elements but they still do not work
1 Answer Queen, The range may have a faulty relay on the control board WP5701M403-60 or Aux Relay WP74003482, both are located in the control panel. You didn't mention any error codes in the display, or if it was one or both ovens. At this point, if you have 240 VAC to the range, if the cooktop burners work, and the control programs proper, that would be the places to start checking. A proper model number would be a big help Read More...
Liz December 20, 2012 for Model Number MER6772BAQ I need the bisque color control panel and am told it is no longer made that I need to go with the black color. Is this true and why would they stop making the bisque when so many people are having problems with this part? The black does not match the bisque stove.
1 Answer Hello Liz! Unfortunately, the manufacturer only offers the clock with the black overlay as part number WP5701M403-60- the bisque has discontinued and is no longer available. The control panel itself is still available in bisque as part number 2601D853-88. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your inquiry. Read More...
Richard D June 13, 2012 for Model Number MER6772BAC Can the same control with the convection option be used in place of this one?
1 Answer Richard, A different control, will probably work, based on your descriptioon, But, It wouldn't be a good idea or an authorized repair. We don't know what you have in mind, but re routing and repositionning wires will be involved. Good Luck Read More...
Clyde March 01, 2012 for Model Number MER6772BAC Our two ovens do not heat at all. Error code F1-L is shown. Per your web site I removed the Temp Control in each oven and tested. Both registered about 1100 Ohms. What is my next move to trouble shoot two ovens that do not work. The cook top works fine. The error code does go away after pushing the oven off buttons. Thanks for your help!
1 Answer Hello Clyde. The error code F1-L is for the sensor wire. You will need to Ohm sensor wire end to end to ensure a closed path. Replace the sensor 12001656 if bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
