Paul December 04, 2012 for Model Number JDR8895AAR I have a Jenn Air double oven freestanding range (JDR8895AAR). A couple of years ago it started to click/crackle and the control panel flashes when the oven was on. The clicking seemed to be electrical in nature. This occurred several times over the years, but each time it returned to normal operation without any intervention. Yesterday, it clicked and flashed and started to spark, followed by a burning plastic smell. The control panel does not work at all. The burners still work. What do you think it may be? Is this worth trying to fix?
1 Answer Hello Paul. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock WP5701M796-60 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Jean May 07, 2012 for Model Number JDR8895AAS My control panel has power, but none of the buttons are working except Toast which turns on and off when you press it. When we shut off power at the circuit breaker, the clock doesn't reset - just picks up at its last time. I have also tried depressing CLOCK for several seconds in case it is accidentally in SABBATH mode, but nothing happened. Is there anything else I can try? Also, how difficult is this to replace?

Jim March 22, 2012 for Model Number jdr8895aab I was cooking on the stove top and it fogged over the digital display for ovens then the oven lock displayed. Now the oven controls don't work at all. I can make it lock and unlock but can not turn oven on or set the clock.

Pw February 05, 2012 for Model Number JDR8895AAS Top oven light stays on. With the door open or closed the top oven light stays lit. Pressing the Oven light button on the control panel doesn't have any effect. Note the light assembly was replaced recently and since then the light always stays on.
1 Answer Hello Pw. If there is power coming to the light assembly, and the clock will not turn it off, make sure the door switch is good first. If the door switch is good, you will need to replace the clock WP5701M796-60. Hope this helps. Read More...
Daniel January 10, 2012 for Model Number Maytag JDR8895AAS My control panel is blank. I checked the fuse and the 220v circuit is fine. John Everson October 01, 2011 for Model Number JDR8895AAW The oven temp goes crazy, not every time. We may be baking at 350 degrees and then the thermometer in the oven jumps to 450 and the bread gets burned. I just replaced the oven temp sensor. Is the only thing left the control board??
1 Answer John, Yes, the ERC/Control WP5701M796-60 is the other component that controls the oven temperature, but I'd expect you to have other complaints as well. You may want to check the wiring harness to the bake and broil elements, make sure they are not pinched between the cabinet or touching any thing where they woukld short to ground and stay active. Boris August 12, 2011 for Model Number JDR8895ACS Jenn-Air Great Oven, however, while sitting in the living room, the stove 'beeped' and was setting itself to 'self clean' mode. This seems to be occuring frequently and seems just to have started today. Now, although the clock works, the control unit seems to be locked up. I can't check error codes or turn anything on oven wise. Burners still work. When I called Jenn-Air, they indicated there maybe a software epprom update, but may be a sign of something wrong. I suspect the clock/control unit. Thanks in advance for your assistance. B
1 Answer Hello Boris. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock WP5701M796-60 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Robert June 19, 2011 for Model Number JDR8895AAS Started about two years ago, when I used the toast function in the upper oven, the oven would stay on. Not real hot, but not off. Joan S. June 06, 2011 for Model Number JDR8895 My Jenn-Air double oven dual fuel freestanding range (installed 1-2005) lost electrical power. It clicks as though trying to come on. If the oven door is opened, it clicks louder and light flashes. Is this the "clock" and will the replacement of the part fix it? What kind of guarantee is with the replacement part?
1 Answer Hello Joan! If the clicking is coming from the control panel area then it would be the control board. Your part number is WP5701M796-60. Thanks! Read More...
