Joe March 31, 2022 for Model Number LST9355BW0 Will this part - Knob and Dial Kit 280193 / AP3956258 fix the reason why the knob will not turn to select the different cycles? How do I remove this part? Do I have to go at it from underneath the control box? Also, I replaced the washer pump that I purchased here and it was a 15 minute job after having already had everything unassembled and ready for the new part. Thank you! You guys Rock!
1 Answer Joe, the timer 3946440 would be the cause of failure. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Read More...
Sue October 26, 2020 for Model Number W10208830 I am looking for the "stem" that the timer knob attaches to. Washer is a Roper from 2009, one side of the plastic is broken off. Can you help me find this?
1 Answer Sue, we will be able to assist you, if you can supply the model number of your washer, we will need the model number in order to research the proper part needed to repair your machine. The model and serial tag are usually located in the rear center of the top panel, when you raise the lid, or in the center area of the top of the control panel. Thanks, Read More...
Bill November 20, 2019 for Model Number WTW4816FW2 The washer is fairly new and won't start. The start button seems to be getting stuck. I can't find the part number for a new start button. The diagram shows all the dials and I can see the start button on the web page but it does not indicate that I can buy a new one.
1 Answer Bill, the start button pad is going to be a part of the panel assembly W10877390. However, as the start button is getting stuck, the pad lays over a stem that is part of the control W11170319 and the stem is what would more than likely be getting stuck. With the power cord disconnected from the outlet, the control and panel can be inspected to identify if it is the control start stem that is sticking or if the pad is becoming too rigid to allow the stem to move back outwards. Johner June 07, 2017 for Model Number older whirlpool top loader FSP Timer 3351734A, black knob. Renters broke it off and tossed it. threads are showing with a broken collar piece below. Timer part number is, Fsp 3351734A. What do we need to fix it? Thanks!
1 Answer Johner, using your timer part number a knob and dial/skirt, that may work with your timer is W10801656 knob and WP64138 dial/skirt. We can't be positive, without a model number. Be careful removing the timer knob metal insert left on the timer shaft, you can damage the timer if you overtorque the insert turning it counterclockwise to remove it. Read More...

Mike S. May 02, 2016 for Model Number LSN7233BW0 Either the control knob or the dial broke on my washer. I am not sure which part I need to replace. I removed the knob and the black plastic star-shaped piece under the knob was broken into pieces. Which part do I need to replace? I can run the washer by turning the broken plastic piece with a pair of needle nose pliers, so I think the timer is OK. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Mike, This sounds like the center of the dial 280193 has broken from the description "star-shaped" piece. Read More...

Emilia E June 15, 2015 for Model Number LSC9355W0 Timer on my washer will not rotate at all. Purchased a replacement from an authorized whirlpool store. It contained 2 knobs, and a dial. The old one was in no form connected to the timer. I read an answer from another customer, and he talks about the timer having a harness. A harness is not provided with the replacement dial parts.. I took the machines front panel off, and did not see anything loose, in front of the timer, that needed replacement. In desperate need of assistance. Thank-you
1 Answer Emilia, Unfortunately the timer knob would not be the cause of the timer not turning. This issue would be caused by a faulty timer 3946440 which unfortunately has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available. Read More...
