Hello T Bill, First dis-continue power to the unit. When I access the door latch assembly, I use a small screwdriver to pry the connectors from the switches. This prevents damage to the connectors and switches. They do go on tight but this method works well.

Walter, We would need to have the model to be able to assist properly but to open the door you would grab the unit door at the top and give a good jerk.

Guy, While an intermittent connection to the door latch assembly could be the cause for the issue, there may be other issues involved like a faulty control board or a bad heating circuit.
