Richard F January 14, 2012 for Model Number mdbh970aww door will not latch and stay closed thus water pours out
2 Answers Richard, can you "feel" or hear the latch assembly WPW10275768 snap into the closed/locked position ? You also want to check and make sure the racks and track assemblies are retracting all the way back into the tub and not getting stuck or blocked by a loose manifold tube, bowed tub or roller issue on the tracks. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...

Debbie December 17, 2011 for Model Number Kitchen Aid Dishwasher Our dishwasher latch broke. Removed broken part, ordered new latch system. Opened dishwasher with dowel and continued to use. Worked fine for 2 days, now won't even turn on. Put in new latch system and still does not have power. What do we do now? Thanks.
1 Answer Hi Debbie. Remove power. Remove the lower kick plate and see if the back unit legs are touching the floor snugly. It needs to be this way so the door latch will open and close positively. Once you get the door open, remember to take the lower rack out and use a torpedo level on the inner side and lower part of the inner door panel to see if the unit is level. If you have the installation guide along with the use and care manual, it will explain it further. Because it sounds like your door latch is not closing far enough to get the switch to close. Is the door striker needing adjusted so it will engage the latch switches? The door latch has both the hot and the neutral power ,one on each side. Make sure you have 120 vac incoming to the switch. Check down below to the float switch to see if the float stem is on top of the float switch and not falling off to the side(common). This will stop filling. A live voltage test is by using the door striker to keep the door latch tripped while using a volt meter to check the door switch and the control board for 120 vac. Send us the exact model # so we can assist. with a color wire comparison. Make sure you have 120 vac at the junction box. The tech. sheet is folded behind the lower kick plate or in the door panel by the control board. Thank You. Read More...
