Wes Snuffy December 12, 2019 for Model Number Admiral under counter Does Admiral part number AP5999602 Include the handle DDB1501AWZ parts reference refers to the above part number. Thanks, Wes
1 Answer Wes, The correct door latch for the model number you supplied is WPW10130695 / WPW10130695 Dishwasher Door Latch Assembly. It consists of the latch and door switches, as well as the black door latch handle. The W10862259 Door Latch Assembly also consists of the latch, door switches and handle, but use the recommended WPW10130695 per the manual. The part is in stock and available at this time. Gene January 19, 2019 I have replaced the latch on my Amana dishwasher, but somehow installed it in a locked position and of course it does not close. I have tried to turn off the electric but it will not turn off, it starts the washing...can I try to unlock it with a screwdriver without getting an electrical shock? What should I do? Thank you
1 Answer Gene, the best place to turn off power to the dishwasher is going to be at the breaker box. This way you can ensure that when using a flat head screwdriver to manually unlock the latch, there is no electricity running through it and nothing could be damaged by any current being suddenly and improperly stopped. Chuck November 12, 2016 for Model Number ADB2200AWS I ordered and replaced the door switch on this dishwasher a few weeks ago and it works great. It wasn't until I replaced it that I found the handle was broken. In the diagram it says order part 3 for the door latch. Our handle is black and I didn't see how to order a black one. FYI the door switch had two little tabs, one on each side that "snap" into the handle assembly. It's the little part they snap into that needs replacing.
1 Answer Chuck, The only way to get the handle is to get the handle and latch assembly which for your unit would be part number W10862259. Read More...
