The Electronic Control Board is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This control board is essential for managing the oven's functions, including temperature settings, baking, broiling, and timing operations. It acts as the central brain of the oven, receiving input from the user and sending signals to various components to execute the desired functions.

Causes of a bad control board can include electrical surges, wear and tear from prolonged use, or damage from high temperatures. A faulty control board can prevent the oven from operating correctly, leading to various issues in cooking performance.

Symptoms of a bad oven electronic control board include:

  • The oven not heating
  • Error codes displayed on the control panel
  • Unresponsive or malfunctioning buttons
  • The oven shutting off unexpectedly

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Oven converted to service with LP gas. Occasional smell of gas from the range while not in operation. Traced smell origin most probably to pilot stem. Suspected bad regulator solenoid. Replaced regulator. Gas smell problem still remains. Occasionally seems that the control unit may emit soft clicking sounds when not in use. Suspect perhaps that the control unit is bad and allowing pilot stem to release gas when not intended. Does this sound like a control board issue? This is a dangerous problem and we are about to simply replace an oven that should not have to be replaced. Thanks

Tracy for Model Number WFG361LVD0

My oven used to count up from 100° to the temperature I set it to then beeped when it reached that temperature. Now it usually stops at about 190º and sometimes shuts off. I've turned the oven off, unplugged it and turned back on but then it only displays the temperature I set it to, still doesn't beep when it reaches that temp and will still randomly shut the oven off. What could be causing this and how can it be fixed? I've been without my oven for close to a month trying to figure out what the problem is. Please help.

Hello Tracy, This can be an issue with the ignitor, spark module, gas valve, temperature sensor, wiring harness, or the control board. The control board is the most likely on this configuration but the tech sheet should be pulled from the unit and the diagnostics mode run to pull the fault codes. This will pinpoint the circuit that is experiencing the failure.

Hello Rick. If the oven temp is not reading properly, and the sensor is now, you will need to replace the control board WPW10424330 on the unit.
