T for Model Number ED5FHEXNB01

my water dispenser was so dis-colored that I decided to swap it out...against my better judgment. the water dispenser is now dripping extremely slowly, whereas it was not dripping at all before the swapout. complicating the root cause of this, I also changed out the water filter (and have run 2 gallons thru), and, started the ice maker for the 1st time in a year or so, about the same time. I've also re-tightened the screw. I'm curious what could now cause the slowwwwwwwwwwwwww drip?

Hello T. It sounds like all the air is not bled from the lines. Try running about 1 to 2 more gallons through the dispenser and see if the drip stops. This is usually the reason for the drip.

Tom, Check and make sure the water filter isn't clogged or dirty, check and make sure all the tube connections are tight and you have at least 32 psi on the water supply line at the fill valve. If all's OK, order two(2) 8201815 check valve connectors. Install one connector on the water tube reservoir where it exits the refrigerator compartment. and one on the water tube where it exits the bottom of the freezer door.

Emile, You will want to remove the drip tray for the dispenser and then using a flat blade screwdriver, there is a slot at the bottom at either side to slide the screwdriver in and pry the front panel off. Once off you will remove the bracket assembly and remove a screw in between the levers that hold them in place.

Kathy, touch up paint wouldn't work because the part is plastic and the paint would chip and possibly get into your cup. Your best bet would be to replace the water dispenser lever, part number WPW10152858. Thanks.

Vicki, If the unit is not dispensing water then the first thing to check would be the bracket for the dispenser. The bracket holds the switches that activate the water and the ice. If the bracket pins for the switch have broken where the switch is just hanging there then the unit will not dispense water as it will just push the switch and not activate it. This would be the most common reason for not dispensing water for your unit. The part number for the bracket is WP2180226.

Chuck, The dispenser dripping can be resolved by installing a check valve 8201815 at the bottom of the freezer door.
