The Lower Door Seal Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is designed to create a watertight seal along the bottom of the dishwasher door, preventing leaks during the wash cycle. The kit comprises a main bottom seal, two corner seals, and installation instructions. The main seal measures approximately 22 inches x 1/2 inch.

You should replace this lower door seal kit if it becomes worn or damaged. Causes of a bad door seal can include deterioration from age, damage from repeated door closures, or buildup of grime and debris that compromise the seal's integrity.

Symptoms of a bad lower door seal include:

  • Water leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher door
  • Visible cracks or wear on the seal
  • The dishwasher door not closing properly
  • Increased humidity or water damage around the dishwasher area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Larry, the easiest way to install the bottom door seal, is to remove the lower access panel and kick plate. The seal kit should come with the seal, corner seals and an instruction sheet to reference to. You'll do fine. Thanks and Good Luck.

There should be no need to use glue. It should slide onto the door. Review the instruction sheet and see if you are mounting it properly and in the correct place.
