Stephanie September 23, 2014 The water isnt shutting off after filling. It'll flood everywhere, but only if its cold water its on. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Stephanie. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
Michael L September 20, 2014 for Model Number GHW9150PW0 I bought the water inlet flowmeter and replaced it and still gives me FH code what else could it be
1 Answer Michael, Based on the model, the tech sheet does not show that this unit would have a FH error code. You will want to check the screens on the water valve and make sure that they are not clogged. Read More...
Guy M April 21, 2014 for Model Number 110.47088600 Having F20 code error. Should I order a flow meter and intake valve? The error occurs occasionally, sometimes 3 or 4 washings before it gives error and sometimes more often.
1 Answer Hello Guy. Possible Causes/Procedure ¦ If there is no water in the unit: – Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way. – Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves. – Verify inlet valve operation. ¦ If there is water in the unit: – Verify that the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to tub and pressure switch. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Verify there is not a siphon problem. 3. Verify wire harness connections to inlet valves, pressure switch, flow meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU). 4. Check all hoses for possible leaks. 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 6. Verify pressure switch operation. 7. Verify flow meter operation by blowing air through the part and measuring the resistance. 8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle. Read More...
Billy Jack April 17, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool Model#wtw57esvw1 The small circuit board in the flow meter has what appears to be two contacts enclosed in a glass tube. The tube is broken. does this mean the flow meter is defective? Also I've checked the other components in the water filling operation, they all appear to be in proper working order. Can you think of anything I may have overlooked. Your insights are most appreciated.
1 Answer Billy, Yes, you will need to replace the flow meter WPW10176591 , any type of loose connection, or damage to the assembly will require replacement. You didn't mention an actual complaint or error code, etc. but if you were having a water fill issue you should be fine with a new flow meter. The only thing left to check are the debris screens in the end of the fill hoses and the water inlet valve. Read More...

Richard February 25, 2014 for Model Number MHWE500VW11 HI, What position should this part be in? Vertical or Horizontal? Troubleshoot and F20 error, this is one of the items to check. The internet says it should be horizontal or flat. From the above diagram, it shows it as vertical or on it's edge. What is the proper way. Thanks.
Kendall February 11, 2014 for Model Number WTW57ESVW1 Whirlpool top load washer wants to start to agitate as it is filling with water instead of filling first. Could this be a water level sensor? the washer also acts as if its not on the right wash setting, at the end of the rinse cycle it wants to fill with water again, but for just a few seconds, I have to turn the dial to the extra spin cycle to get the rest of the water out of the tub.........any ideas ? thanks kendall
1 Answer Kendall, Yes the water level / temperature switch WPW10248240 could and usually is the cause of the washer fill issues. It could also account for the water being injected at the end of the rinse cycle. Though the timer WPW10177827 could also be the cause of the fill at the end of the rinse cycle, it's the least likely issue and you probably don't want to start there. Read More...
S-A-S February 08, 2014 for Model Number 110.44932 200 The water enters the washer too hot when on "cold" setting during the wash cycle. I have to put it on "tap cold" in order to avoid ruining more clothes. I have tried to choke down the hot outlet, but the machine struggles for water. Almost as if only hot is going in when it should be mixed with mostly cold. It doesn't seem to do this during the rinse cycle. I was going to replace the flowmeter & heat sensor. Would either one of those help my problem?
1 Answer S-A-S, If the water temperature of the cold water coming into the unit is below 65 degrees then the unit will switch over to only hot water fill. Once the unit senses the water temperature to be a set temperature then it will cycle the cold water on. If that is not occurring then you will want to test the temp sensor that is located at the front of the tub to ensure that it is good. If the sensor is faulty then replace and if the sensor is good then the ccu would be the issue. Read More...
Larry R January 02, 2014 for Model Number Whirpool Duet The fabric softener is not dispensing. The dispenser motor seems to be functioning fine as the water is appropriately dispensed into each compartment and all other compartments seem to be emptying appropriately. However, when the cam follower points to compartment IV, water enters the compartment diluting the softener, but the softener compartment remains full of its diluted contents at termination of the entire wash cycle and does not drain. Bin was removed and does not appear to be clogged and neither the tubing leading to and from the dispenser. What would you suggest as the most likely issue?
1 Answer Larry, While the hoses and the bin itself may not be clogged, you will want to check the ports at the top of the dispenser assembly. With the fabric softner dispenser, when the water enters the dispenser cup it will splash and can cause clogging of the ports. Try to clean the ports and if this does not correct then you will need to replace the dispenser assembly. Read More...
