The condenser fan motor is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It plays a vital role in circulating refrigerant through the condenser coils, facilitating heat exchange and maintaining the refrigerator's cooling efficiency.

My side-by-side kept in my Texas garage stopped cooling/freezing and developed high heat in the fridge/freezer wall. Moderate heat had been there for years. A repairman offered to repair it for $500.00. He also told me he found a piece of plastic blocking the condenser fan it would run but slow - had probably been that way since repaired 5 years ago. He checked the compressor with a mulitmeter and said it was good. I cleaned the coils etc. and left the unit unplugged a night. When I plugged it back in I could hear some lightly rattly fan noise but the unit cooled like an igloo! One week latter it is hot again. The fan is wobbly on it's shaft but still turning. I set up a floor fan to draw the air off the coils and it helped but it is still not freezing like last week. I have 2 questions for you (finally) do you think it is just the fan or could there be an issue with the compressor, relay...? And, my fan has 4 wires coming off the plug - is AP3108246 the motor for the fan? Thanks

Hello Chuck. It sounds like the condenser fan motor W10822259 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. If the compressor is running, it should be fine on the unit. If the garage is to hot, it is going to be hard for the unit to cool properly. These are made for a location around 75°.

I was wondering if you can help me with this refrigerator's condenser fan? The wall between this side by side fridge gets very hot. So hot that the door of the fridge is hot. Temperature of both fridge and freezer is good but it appears to be running non stop. I have done some research and it means the condenser fan is the problem. This is what I have found out, how would I test or does this just need to be replaced?

Hello Donald. You will need to check and see if the fan motor W10822259 is running on the unit. If not, and there is power coming to it, you will need to replace the fan motor. Also, make sure the coils under the unit are clean as well on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Hello Miles. Check and see if the condenser fan motor W10822259 has quit running in the unit. If so, and there is power coming to it, you will need to replace the condenser fan motor in the unit. I have a whirlpool side by side fridge model ed25pqxdw04 and the condenser fan motor is noisy. The new replacement has 2 wires and a seperate ground wire. The existing one has 2 red to one side of the harness and 2 white to the other end of the same wiring harness. Do I just wire the two red to one wire and the 2 white to the other wire, and ground the motor to the fridge frame?? Thanks

Hi Woody. The answer to your question is yes. Twist the red together and hook to the positive 120 vac lead (red on your harness). Then the white wires together for the neutral return circuit. Condensor fan motor part # W10822259. Thank You.

My wire hardness only has two leads to motor a red and white. Noticed that the hardness in the picture has Three leads-Green, White and Red. What should I do with the extra lead? Can I use the existing plug in the refer or do I have to change it out? Thanks in advance of your reply. Bill Gordon

Hello William. You will need to change the plug out to the three wire plug in the condenser motor kit W10822259. The green wire need to ground to the frame of the refrigerator. Hope this helps.
