Cidnor P July 08, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore elite 665.12773K310 The dishwasher is used infrequently. It stopped draining at Christmas and overflowed. We took it out, cleaned the drain basket, checked the drain hose, and thought it worked, but the next use, a few months later, and it did it again. When you run a cycle, the initial drain cycle before it runs the wash cycle seems to start. You can hear the sound of the drain pump (I think) start, but stop after a few seconds, repeats a few time. No drainage to the sink. It seems the drain pump “tries to run” but can’t. Is it likely to be the problem or am I better off taking it apart and seeing what else may be wrong?

Jim December 10, 2018 for Model Number KDTE304DSS0 Drain pump has started to hum loudly. Drains fine. Sump is clean. I pulled pump and there was some hair like strands around impeller. Impeller had some wear and tear. 12-months ago broken glass jammed impeller. Is there anything else that I should look at before replacing pump.

Cosmas January 16, 2017 for Model Number 66512783K311 Howdy, I replace the pump motor and the diffuser on this dishwasher after we heard a grinding sound and the water would not drain (found an olive pit in the outlet tube). The dishes are still not getting clean. There is water, I replace the valve at the supply. I looked into the outlet pump impeller by removing the hose to it, and the blades on pump look fine. 1 Answer Cosmas, You have a diverter motor on this unit that may have failed and the part number for the diverter motor would be W10537869 and will want to check to make sure that this motor is getting power. J.L. April 16, 2015 for Model Number kude60hxss6 This dishwasher is 15 months old. Very loud "whirring" noise when draining water. Filter is clean and I don't think anything got past it. Should I remove drain pump and can it be cleaned or does this sound like it needs to be replaced. I haven't had a chance yet to remove unit to check underneath.
