Steve January 12, 2012 for Model Number pye2300ayw (?) performa Seems like bearing motor is bad. I took motor out and it turns by hand, no problem. The motor seems to be running half speed and a burning smell happens after 15 seconds, or so. Motor alone same, half speed. Motor shaft moves back/forth tiny bit, but, not any wobble in bearing. Does the motor switching module go bad (the switch attached to motor with brush-like switch) (terminology?)
1 Answer Hello Steve. Yes, the switch in the motor can go bad and cause the problem you are having. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor W10410996 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...

Kim H. September 22, 2011 for Model Number PYE2300AYW I've replaced the thermostat and I believe it's called the overtemp fuse. Dryer runs fine now other than after it runs for awhile it makes a noise that's hard to describe and stops. After a few minutes it will run again until the noise starts up again. I did find the motor shaft is fairly hard to turn by hand. Is this a sign the bearings/bushings in the motor are bad? The motor was also very hot. Thanks for any info on this problem.
1 Answer Hello Kim. Yes, based on the information you provided, if the shaft on the motor is tight, you will need to replace the drive motor W10410996. Hope this helps. Read More...

Ds M. August 06, 2011 for Model Number pye3300ayw My dryer is running it makes a screeching noise frequently, but intermittently. It will run for 10 - 15 minutes then come to an abrupt stop with a loud screech. If I wait 20 - 30 minutes, I can get it to start again, but still screeching and it will run another 10 - 15 minutes before coming to the abrupt screeching stop. Heat is on, drum is turning. Any idea what part I need?
1 Answer Hi Ds. By the sounds described your motor bearings may be locking up and overheating the motor thermal limiter/motor assembly. This part # is W10410996. Thank you. Read More...
Daniel June 26, 2011 for Model Number PYE2300AYW My dryer will not start or run when I push the button. The door is close but I get nothing at all . Could it be the motor? If so, is it hard to put in(can I do it myself).
1 Answer Hello Daniel, first you will want to verify you are getting power to the unit. Then make sure the door switch LA-1005 is working. If door switch is good, you will want to look at the thermal fuse located near the heating element LA-1053. If this is blown, you will have to make sure all the venting for the dryer is clean and replace the fuse. Hope this helps! Read More...
