For Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor (Part Number: OEM18046266)

Hi Tony. On the top or the side of the door bracket is a screw that stops the door from being lifted off the inner lt. and rt. freezer rails. Then at the end of the door bracket at the back is a guide "hook" that pulls up and out as you lift the door up and back off the side rails. The door comes off in this manner and reassembles in the reverse sequence. This allows you to reach and remove the back wall to replace the evaporator fan motor part # WPW10128551. Thank You.

John for Model Number KBRA20ERWH

Was getting a grinding/growling noise from the unit. Replaced the damper motor and that noise went away. Still getting a slightly loud vibration noise from the unit occasionally. I don't believe is the condenser motor. Virtually silent when I took the back off of the unit. I think the only thing left is either the compressor or the evaporator motor. For $26 I think it worth my try for the evap motor. Thoughts? Suggestions? Or other advice? The damper motor worked our GREAT!!! Thank you.

Hello John. The evaporator fan motor WPW10128551 in the unit can vibrate and make noise if the bushings are bad. You should be able to open the freezer door and see if the motor is noisy. Hope this helps.

Hello Bkaplan. The evaporator fan motor WPW10128551 is located inside the freezer behind the back wall. You will need to remove the freezer door and basket. Then remove the icemaker and the center air grate in the back wall. Remove the back wall from the freezer. Now you can access the evaporator fan motor. Remove the old motor and reinstall with the new motor in reverse order. You can use the old gromments and gaskets. Hope this helps.

Hello Arel. You will need to replace the fan motor. If the refrigerator is running, but the fan is not, then it is bad. Hope this helps.

The fan that you are looking at is the evaporator fan. It is the fan that pushes the cold air into the freshfood section.
