Adam August 20, 2022 for Model Number KRMF706ESS01 I'm having defrost problems with my KRMF706ESS01 and your website says there are three different part numbers this replaces. I would like to know why/what was revised about this part and of the new part number is supposed to fix defrost issues.
Paul May 15, 2022 for Model Number WRV986FDEM00 MY upper fridge is not staying cool all the time. It goes off for days, and then when it starts working, it works for a week or two. The freezer is working just fine and staying cold. A tech came out and said it was the Evap fan, but I am not sure what is the correct part for this. Some of the parts don't have images. Can someone help me?
1 Answer Paul, the refrigerator evaporator fan motor is part number W11087438 for the model number provided. Read More...
Karl June 21, 2021 for Model Number WRV986FDEM01 Hi, Im looking for the defrost heater and bimetal for the fresh food section in this fridge. The diagram shows it as part #24 for the def heater, however the parts lists shows #24 as an evap fan motor. What are the correct part numbers for the fresh food defrost heater and bimetal? Thanks
1 Answer Karl, To get the evaporator thermistor which is what this unit uses, you would need to get the evaporator fan motor W11087438. Typically the heater is not going to be the issue. The manufacturer is not listing the heater for the Fresh Food section. Read More...
Andrew February 26, 2021 for Model Number WRV986FDEM01 Ran Diagnostics and the only thing to fail is Service Test 3 part 4 = Both RC & FC fans on. When I run this part of the test the fridge shuts down and PO is displayed when it powers back on. Since part 2 = FC fan on did not fail. I assume that the RC fan must be the bad part. Are you in agreement? Also I noticed the bottom drawer freezer was not working as things were thawing. Would the RC fan cause the freezer not to work or is it just the fact that the fridge is shutting off every 10 min or so with PO error code? Thanks for any help here and shoot me a link to the part you think I will need.
1 Answer Andrew, the unit continuously shutting off and on will cause the appliance to thaw out. Based on the information provided, it sounds like the refrigerator section evaporator fan W11087438 has a short in it. This can be identified by accessing the evaporator fan in the back of the refrigerator (behind the air tower and evaporator cover) and unplugging the fan. If the appliance will start to function without turning on and off, the fan has been verified as being the cause of failure. Read More...
Jeff November 03, 2020 for Model Number WRV986FDEM00 I'm getting a loud vibrating sound coming from the back of the inside of the refrigerator compartment. I've pulled the ice maker out of the top but the noise continued. Could it be the fan motor making the vibrating noise. I didn't fully disassemble the refrigerator but I could push on the back panel and the noise would diminish some. I could also feel the vibration from the outside on the back of the refrigerator. I could really use some help on this. Refrigerators are not my specialty.
1 Answer Hello Jeff, likely what you are hearing is the fresh food evaporator fan motor starting to wear out, it is part W11087438. Read More...
