The Turntable Motor is an OEM part for Whirlpool microwaves. This motor is responsible for rotating the microwave turntable, ensuring even heating of food by allowing it to rotate during the cooking process. It is located beneath the turntable and engages with the turntable coupler to facilitate smooth rotation. Installation of this motor may need a Torx driver. If a small stud is present in the center of the Torx screw, a security torx bit will be necessary for the replacement of those screws.

Causes of a bad turntable motor can include wear and tear from regular use, electrical failures, or physical damage due to overloading or mishandling. These issues can result in the turntable not rotating properly, leading to uneven heating.

Symptoms of a bad turntable motor include:

  • Turntable not rotating
  • Uneven cooking or heating of food
  • Unusual noises coming from the motor area
  • The microwave displaying error codes related to the turntable

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Susan. In some cases, you will need a torx driver to replace the motor. If there is a small stud sticking up in the center of the torx screw, then you will need a security torx bit for those screws. Thank you.

Hi David, It could be your turntable motor WPW10466420 or perhaps the coupler W10435116 is broken or loose. You may also check the wiring to the motor for a good connection. Thanks!
