Michael November 22, 2011 for Model Number LAT9416AAQ I have water leaking from bottom of tub. On an older machine I replaced only the boot seal as I recall, and this did not require replacing the ottom bearing assembly, is this still probably the main location leaking, and if I only replace the boot seal I do not need to replace the bearing?. The spanner wrench I have from that repair does not have protruding nubs to engauger the nut as is in your photo. When I am on your web site, the spanner part number shown in the seal page is not the same as the spanner part number the link takes you to, and this spanner has protruding nubs to enguage the nut, my spanner has inner notches into which the nut must enguage. Are there different spanners or is your web link and photo not accurate?
1 Answer Hello Michael. You need to replace both bearing kits 6-2095720 6-2040130 and order the new spanner wrench TB123B. If your old one does not have the tabs, then it is not the correct wrench. Hope this helps. Read More...

Jill April 27, 2011 for Model Number Maytag A810 Hi - just replaced both the mounting stem and the tub bearing on my washer...almost done, but...on top of the old mounting stem, there was a washer (part #15666 in the diagram) and a retaining ring (part #15657)...there doesn't appear to be a place for the washer and the retaining ring on the new mounting stem. Do I need the washer and retaining ring, or can I now just put the agitator on top of the stem and complete my repair? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Jill, on your old mounting stem set up the washer and clip held the center seal in place. On the replacement, the center seal is built into the mounting stem so those parts are not needed anymore. Read More...
