Lynn July 19, 2023 I can hold my push to start button in and it runs but the moment I let it go, the unit turns off. Do I need a new push to start button?
1 Answer Lynn, This would not be an issue with the start button but would be a problem with the motor. The start winding is letting the unit run but when it switches over to the run winding, this is when the switch is released, it will stop running because the run winding is faulty. You will want to replace the motor. Read More...
Chris March 29, 2017 for Model Number LEQ9030PQ1 I have an electric Whirlpool dryer and the dryer will not start when I push the button. There is NO sound of any kind. The inside light of the dryer is on (so I know I did not trip a circuit). If the thermal fuse blows, will the light still go on? My thought is it is the problem relates to the on-switch (part # 8543274) and not the fuse. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello Chris. Yes, the light will still come on. You need to check the door switch, belt, and thermal fuse. Make sure all 3 are not bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Craig September 15, 2011 for Model Number estate EED4400WQ My dryer shut off after running ten minutes and will not restart. I opened the door and there was good heat. I checked main fuse panel and it was okay. I have power at the plug in terminal.
1 Answer Hello Craig. You will need to test and see if the thermal fuse WP3392519 is bad. It should read closed for continuity. It is located on the back of the dryer on the blower wheel housing. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bree June 24, 2011 for Model Number LEB6200PQ0 My dryer was running but you had to move the on/off switch back-n-forth to get it to turn on. It took 2 cycles to dry one load. Bree June 24, 2011 for Model Number LEB6200PQ0 How are the four wires connected on the 4 pronged switch? Someone else removed the old switch and I have no idea how to reconnect. I cannot find a diagram of them connected anywhere on the net. The two blue wires (one is solid blue and the other wire is blue with a black stripe)get connceted on the bottom, but I am not sure which goes on the left/right and the black wire and the red/white wire get connected on the top but I am not sure which goes on the left/right.
1 Answer Hello Bree. Looking at the switch from the back, the white/red and blue goes on the left and the black and blue/black goes to the right. Hope this helps. Read More...
