This push-to-start switch momentarily closes the start circuit to begin a cycle. Replacing a worn switch restores reliable starting when you press the Start button.

  • Initiates operation by closing the start circuit when pressed
  • Works with the door switch and timer/control to begin a cycle
  • Common symptoms: won't start when Start is pressed; runs only while the button is held; intermittent starting; Start button feels loose or sticky

Lynda, This switch can be tested for continuity. When the button is not pushed in there should be no continuity and when it is pushed in there will be continuity.

Lynn, This would not be an issue with the start button but would be a problem with the motor. The start winding is letting the unit run but when it switches over to the run winding, this is when the switch is released, it will stop running because the run winding is faulty. You will want to replace the motor.

Bree for Model Number LEB6200PQ0

How are the four wires connected on the 4 pronged switch? Someone else removed the old switch and I have no idea how to reconnect. I cannot find a diagram of them connected anywhere on the net. The two blue wires (one is solid blue and the other wire is blue with a black stripe)get connceted on the bottom, but I am not sure which goes on the left/right and the black wire and the red/white wire get connected on the top but I am not sure which goes on the left/right.

Hello Bree. Looking at the switch from the back, the white/red and blue goes on the left and the black and blue/black goes to the right. Hope this helps.

Hello Bree. You will need to pull the wire connector off the old switch and remove the old switch. Then install the new switch and push the wire connector onto it. Hope this helps.
