Bruce May 23, 2013 for Model Number 6651350594 When I turn the start switch nothing happens. Is it the start switch or the door switch?
1 Answer Bruce, You will want to check the door safety switch for continuity when the door is closed or the button pushed in. If there is no continuity then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced. If the switch checks ok then the start switch would most likely be the failure. Read More...

Bruce January 10, 2012 for Model Number KUCS02CRSS0 Two questions: When I turn compactor knob to the "start" position, it does not spring back to the "on" position. The compactor continues to try to compact until I manually return the knob to the "on" position. Is part AP3115288 the part I need to replace? Also, if so, then how do I remove the knob from the control part to replace both? I tried force using plyers, but still couldn't get it to come off.
1 Answer Hi Bruce. The switch is supposed to positively return as mentioned. It is part # 675382. The cabinet top needs to be removed to get to the switch. What you need to do is to use a wrag wrapped behind the switch and pull it off from the shaft. The white switch is part # WP9871799. The black switch is part # [AP308104]. Thank You. Read More...
Mike December 24, 2011 for Model Number 6651350193 Hello, this was a brand new Kenmore compactor in 1994. The only problem I am having is the switch on the left hand side of the panel (directional switch?). The switch is labeled Normal and Extra Pack. The Extra pack works fine. The normal side when activated used to activate the ram in one full complete cycle. Now it wont, the compactor motor comes on but when I let go of the switch it stops. Hope this was clear. What switch would you recommend replacing first? Thank you Mike
1 Answer Hi Mike. Hope you really mean the far rt. switch which is the Off switch assy. Part # 675382. On the left side is a light rocker switch which is part # WP4314961. Then the one just to the rt. of it is a light lens. Read More...
