Johnny November 25, 2011 for Model Number MSD2456GE Part # AP4009662 - I just bought this part and was delivered 11/21/11. Can you please tell me how to install this as it does not look like the original part but is a substitution for the original part. Similarly, goods was received without the the jumper wire and instruction as stated in your ads and which should be included in the package.
1 Answer Hi Johnny. The blue wire goes to the overload which slides on the single pin on the compressor. Not the 2 that are side by side, it is (formed in a triangle) exactly where the original blue wire /overload connection was. Then use the orange wire to hook to the # 2 terminal on the relay. The capacitor connects at pin # 2 and # 3 of the relay. The jumper was an optional part if one of the orange wire did not fit directly on the relay, on some a narrow female spade terminal was used on the orange wire so the jumper hooked on the small terminal and transferred to a regular 1/4" terminal at the relay end. You can crimp a 1/4 " female spade terminal and hook to the relay at # 2 on the relay. The orange wire is the neutral feed from the adaptive defrost control board. Thank You. Read More...
Tw August 12, 2011 for Model Number msd2735grb I just bought this part from you. Can you please tell me how to install it? It does not look like the original part but is a manufacture substitution for the original part.
1 Answer Hello TW. The white and black overload with one terminal goes on the single pole on the compressor. You will attach the blue wire to that terminal. Next install the relay onto the compressor and install the orange wire (with the jumper wire on certian modles) to the run terminal, and the white wire to the start terminal. You can look at the numbers on the old realy and match them up to the numbers on the new realy/overload 12002794. Hope this helps. Read More...
Don April 29, 2011 for Model Number msd2456geb How do you check the run capacitor to see if its good? The relay that is shown does not look like the one I have. Will it fit my maytag fridge?
1 Answer Hello Don. You can test the run capacitor with a meter MA-DM1. You should see a spike then a slow drop back to zero. The overload/relay kit 12002794 for your model is different than the original relay. It is designed to work for this model number. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
