Lisa October 01, 2013 for Model Number MFI2568AES The rail mulln on the left door does not pop back into place like it is supposed so the door closes smoothly. It stays flat and you have to manually push it in place as you close the door. Would purchasing a new rail mulln fix the problem or is there something else I would need to purchase as well to fix the problem? I just wanted to make sure I got everything at one time.
1 Answer Lisa, Replacing the mullion may resolve the issue but you will want to make sure that the mullion is making contact with the piece at the top of the refrigerator. If not making contact then you will need to adjust the unit as it is not level or the door is not level. Read More...
Jason October 12, 2012 for Model Number built in 42" french door On my french door refrigerator there is a rail mullion. The mullion has metal contacts at the top and bottom. As I understand it this is a heated element that is inside the rail to help prevent condensation from building on the outside of the rail. When the unit is in the "energy saving" mode, the heating or power to the heating element is turned off. My question is, how much voltage is supposted to be supplied to the Rail between the contact ponts on the top and bottom of the rail? I ask because I would like to use a volt meter to test to ensure that it is working. I have had an abundant amount of moisture build up on the rail over the last few months. This is the first time this has ever happened in 5 years. Also the rail used to be a little warm to the touch before, now it is cold and have LOTS of moisture on it. Thanks for the help.
1 Answer Hello Jason, This is normally a 120Vac but this is a guess without the specific model number. I would check the resistance of the heater to see if it is open. If it isn't open, but shows a resistance, the issue has been narrowed down to the switch, the wiring or the power supply on the board. If it is open, the mullion heater is in need of replacement. Let us know if you require more assistance and please post the model number next time so we can get specific for you. Read More...

James Blair October 27, 2011 for Model Number MFI12568AES A clip is broken on the top of the rail. If I order the rail part how is the rail affixed to the refrigerator? Is there glue involved in attaching clips to the rail, does it just pop in?
1 Answer James, There is no glue involved , but its a bit more involved than that. When you open the left refrigerator door, you will find "hinges" or "pivots" mounted to the door liner assembly, You will need to remove the two hex head screws holding the top pivot and the two screws holding the middle pivot. You can then raise the mullian strip up an inch and disconnect the wiring harness in the middle pivot, and change out the part. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
