John November 24, 2016 for Model Number MEDB850WR0 Dryer quit working the other day. My wife reported hearing a pop while folding clothes, then the dryer quit. The breaker had tripped. I reset the breaker but the dryer wouldn't heat. I opened it up and the terminals had burned off the heater element and the wires were damaged. So I replaced the heater element and repaired/replaced the wiring. Still no heat. The thermal cutoff was bad, so I replaced it. Now the heat won't shut off, even on air fluff. Through other checking around, I discovered with the machine turned off, I can trip the centrifugal switch on the motor and the heater heats up. So, I'm thinking the heater control relay is bad on the control board. Do you agree? And can that relay be replaced, or am I stuck replacing the entire board?
1 Answer Hello John. Make sure the element is not grounded out. If not, replace the board on the unit. Read More...
Jeff April 29, 2016 for Model Number medb850wq0 Lights power on but not start. In diagnostic mode code F06 then, CO. These codes are not on the diagnostic tech sheet. I tested the fuse, thermostat and belt switch and they test good. Door switch seems to work, as light comes on and relay click is heard in electronic module. However, in diagnostic mode, the door switch behaves the same- light comes on and off, and click is heard- but nothing on the display.
1 Answer Jeff, You will want to test to see if there is 120 vac getting to the motor on the unit when you push the start button. If there is 120 vac then the issue will be the motor. If there is not power then the issue would most likely be the control board. Read More...
Tom April 20, 2016 for Model Number YMEDB850WR0 Code is reading FE2, could possibly be F82, as maybe 2 light bars are burnt, but still can not find anything. Time does not show unless i press + or -, and will count down but does not run. Also the lights for wet to dry do not come on at all, please help.
1 Answer Tom, This issue would most likely be a thermostat or thermal fuse that has failed and you will want to check each of them to ensure that it is good. The code is not a valid code. If the thermostats check good for continuity then the issue will most likely be in the control board. Read More...
Ted T April 03, 2016 for Model Number MGDB800VQ0 It takes 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. Even though the dryer light says they are dry the clothes are damp in the middle. I cleaned out the vent pipe, replaced the blower thermistor, the gas valve coils and tested the other parts related to heat problems. I did not replace the main control board because of the high cost. I don't know what else I can do to correct problem. This dryer has become a real lemon. These electronic parts they are using in dryers and washers are failing too soon rendering these machines useless. Other dryers I had without electronics lasted up to 25 years and the parts were easy to diagnose and replace. Please advise ?
1 Answer Ted, Typically when a dryer takes longer than normal to dry then the issue would be a venting issue. Check the blower wheel to make sure that there is nothing clogged in it. If it is taking too long on auto cycle then it is possible that the moisture sensor or wiring to the sensor is faulty. Read More...
Dirk September 27, 2015 for Model Number WED9200SQ1 My washer does nothing, no lights on the control board or anything. The breaker was not thrown, its plugged in and the cord looks fine. My wife was pretty sure she started the dryer and when she returned it was in this state. I checked the thermal fuse and it had continuity. Not sure where to go from here.
1 Answer Hello Dirk, You should verify the power supply to the unit is correct and there are no loose connections at the wall outlet or dryer terminal block. If all checks good, check for 120Vac at the L1 terminal on the main board WPW10174745. If there is voltage there in reference to the terminal labeled neutral, check for voltage out of the board at terminal P9-1. If voltage is there when trying to start, The thermal fuse is a likely cause. Read More...
Paul July 23, 2015 for Model Number Maytag dryer bravos medb850wro Hello Dryer gets hot but clothes come out like they were steamed and still somewhat wet. The timer will sometimes run the time out and then turns to 1:38 and never shuts off. Repair company wanted $800 to fix stating control board and fuses. Does this seem right? Dryer is like 6years old or so. Thank you Paul
1 Answer Hello Paul. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Leo September 26, 2014 for Model Number MEDB800VQ0 Hi, is any of the relays on the machine controlled electronics board replaceable? part number AP4371696 thank you for your time.
1 Answer Leo, The manufacturer does not carry relays for the control boards on appliances. If the appliance control board WPW10111620 has failed it would need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Rayn. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mike September 13, 2014 for Model Number MEDB800VQ0 The dryer showed error code F04. Would this be a bad user interface board (W10051104 Rev D) or the machine control electronics board (W10111620 Rev D). Both of the boards are Rev D if that makes any difference. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mike, Since the code is not on the tech sheet, this is most likely going to be an issue with the control board WPW10111620. The revision number is not normally considered because the correct board should be listed under the appliances model number. Read More...
