The Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This specific seal is designed to fit around the blower housing, ensuring a tight seal that prevents air leaks within the dryer. The blower housing is a critical component of the dryer's air circulation system, which moves air through the drum to dry clothes efficiently.

Causes of damage to the Seal can include wear and tear from regular use, excessive heat degrading the material over time, or improper maintenance practices that can cause physical damage to the seal.

Symptoms of a bad Seal include:

  • Longer drying times than usual
  • Excessive heat buildup in the dryer
  • Unusual noises from the dryer, such as rattling or buzzing

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Rich for Model Number KGYE760W

I have a lot of lint not getting caught by the lint screen and is winding up out the side of the house. I took off the back and I can see the lint screen housing and blower foam seals need to be replaced. My problem is that unlike the video, I have a back panel of the cabinet that covers the top 1/3 of the lint chute. I've tried pulling the lint chute out the top or pull down the bottom without luck. Is there a trick to this? Assuming I do replace the seals, is that likely to solve my lint problem or is there something else happening? Thanks!

Hello Rich. You will need to clean out the vent really good and make sure the filter is good and gets cleaned every cycle. It is not likely that the seal will stop this from happening.

Hello Ryan! Yes, the blower seals are flame retardant. No, we would not recommend using weather strips. Unfortunately, we do not have the measurements available for the seals. However, the blower housing foam seal is part number W11415783 and the blower shaft seal is part number WP3394196. Thanks.

Hello Dale. There is no adhesive needed to install the blower housing foam seal W11415783. You will peel off the brown paper and there is glue under it to install the seal onto the unit. Hope this helps.

Hello James. Disconnect the power to the unit and remove the lint filter. Then remove the screws under the lint filter and release the clips under the front corners. Raise the top and remove the screws securing the front panel and unplug the door switch. Lift and remove the front panel from the dryer. Now you can install the belt 341241 on the dryer drum. Here is a link to the dryer belt diagrams. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dryer-repair/25860-dryer-belt-diagrams.html
