John L. August 10, 2012 for Model Number MVWB750WQ0 We are preparing for a long distance move where goods will be stored..so really two moves. I have been advised to secure the washer drum with shipping bolts left by the installer. No such thing, they took them back, it seems. Which shipping bolt kit is required for this washer? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello John! Your model, MVWB750WQ0, does not require shipping bolts. Here is the transportation information from the owners manual. Hope this helps, thanks! To transport the washer: 1. Shut off both water faucets. 2. Disconnect and drain water inlet hoses. 3. If the washer will be moved during freezing weather, put 1 qt (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze in the basket. Run washer on the Rinse & Spin setting for about 30 seconds to mix the antifreeze and remaining water. 4. Disconnect the drain from the drain system. 5. Unplug the power cord. 6. Place the inlet hoses into the basket. 7. Drape the power cord and drain hose over edge into the basket. 8. Place foam packing ring from the original shipping materials in the top of washer. If you do not have the original foam packing ring, place heavy blankets, towels, etc. into basket opening. Close the lid and put a piece of tape over the lid and down to the front of the washer. Keep lid taped until the washer is placed into the new location. Read More...
Amy J August 02, 2012 for Model Number MHWE500VP00 I was told to use a professional mover and stabilizer bolts to move my washer. I remember taking out four long plastic red bolts out of the back of the washer when we installed it, with very strong words not to remove them till the washer was in place!! but I am pretty sure that I wasnt told to keep these for future moves but to discard them and that when we removed them the drum dropped down making it impossible to reinsert them anyway. My washer has only left my home for repair, granted it left in pieces but came home in the back of a truck (with no stabilizer bolts) We are only moving half a block but the unit will be placed downstairs of our new home. I need to know if I need these to move it because I dont want to mess up the drum!!
1 Answer Hello Amy. As long as you are careful with the unit, they are not needed for that short of a distance. If you are worried about damage to the unit, to be safe, it is best to use the shipping bolts W10289554A. Read More...
