Will N. March 01, 2019 I’m on my second set of friction pads/rings on my Whirlpool DW. Replaced friction pads once by a serviceman, second set by me in 2 years. The serviceman said he sees it all of the time. Very regular repair. My hinges were not bent. I confirmed that. The plastic piece that holds one side of the top drawer keeps falling off. Replaced it 3 times. Finally bent the end of the rail to get it to stay.

Bill Ryan January 17, 2018 Ordered 2 friction pads and watched the video to install them. Just had quartz counter tops installed. The top brace of the dishwasher does no screw into the counter top. It appears the dishwasher is held up against the bottom of the counter tops by the pressure from the front legs of the dishwasher. I cannot figure out how to loosen the bolts (the front legs). There is a bracket in front of them. Any ideas?
1 Answer Bill, Once you remove the kick plate and access panel, you can use a 1/4" open end or box wrench, or a small ratchet wrench with a 1/4" socket to "raise" the front levelling legs. The dishwasher shouldn't be "jammed" and held in place by the cabinet. You'll want to check your owners manual or installation instructions for a side mount kit or a floor mount kit to properly and safely secure the dishwasher in place. You can also post a question with the model number so we can research the parts needed and information needed. Read More...
Billy Boy December 03, 2017 for Model Number F63104213 I have replaced the friction pad twice oh the left side of my dishwasher. It is not even a year old!..........Help......
1 Answer Billy Boy, You will want to check the hinges to make sure that the hinges are not rubbing which would cause the friction pad to break. This would be an indication that this is a possible bent hinge. Read More...
Pat July 29, 2017 for Model Number Whirlpool When putting on the friction pad the spring came off and I don't know where the spring hooks on in the back part. The spring came of the back part and I can't see where to hook it back on
1 Answer Pat, The "recurved" end of the door spring, is inserted into the openings/slots on the outside of the dishwasher frame, along the bottom, at the rear of the frame, near the rear feet. You may find it a little easier if you move the dishwasher out of the cabinet or at least dismount it so you can move it around if needed, and make sure you close and latch the door when installing the spring. The farther back in the holes/slots, the more tension on the springs. Read More...

Larry April 14, 2014 for Model Number 66513743k603 Is there a reason the part #8268961 keeps breaking? Is there another problem or just the ring?
1 Answer Hello Larry. Check the hinge and make sure it is not bent and is rubbing the pad to hard against the frame. If so, it will cause them to break. Read More...
