For Whirlpool Solenoid Wig Wag (Part Number: OEM9365409)

Tom & Monica for Model Number LA9800XPW1

26-year old Whirlpool washer and dryer still working great -- except -- washer has stopped spinning out water. Tub drains fine, but no spin. The clutch is fine, transmission is fine, belts are fine, lid switch is fine. Opened up the back of the machine to investigate. There is voltage going to the spin solenoid and if I press up on the bottom of the wigwag with a screwdriver, it will engage and spin (pretty inconvenient though). Will replacing the wigwag solenoid fix the problem?

Paul, You may have, You attached a dryer model number, A washer model number would be a big help. You may be able to remove the rear panel, top of the washer(and on some models) the lower access panel and observe the upper tub mount springs, the lower tub supports(look like shock absorbers) and see if any of those components were damaged or dislodged when the washer fell over. You did double check and make sure there was no vibration in the floor and that the washer was installed on the pedestal properly, and all four feet of the pedestal are on the floor solid. Good Luck and Thanks
