Laundrylady, For this issue the most likely cause would be a control board issue with it draining when restarting but not draining and spinning in normal operation.

Peggy for Model Number Kenmore Limited Edition11082294800

Hi,My washer doesn't owe me a thing but if I can fix it ,Id rather for obvious reasons! When you push the button to start the cycle, you hear a noise(I think it is the pump). The water turns on and starts to fill but the drain is pumping it out just as fast.It seems to stay on ...not allowing the washer to fill at all...just keeps draining. What would you check first?I don't think it is a siphon issue because I am hearing the pump on.Thanks in advanmce for any suggestions.Peggy

Peggy, This issue would not have anything to do with the drain pump as the pump is a mechanical pump and not a electrical pump. This would most likely be a siphoning issue where the standpipe is not high enough or the drain hose is making contact with water in the stand pipe.

Hello Anita, This sounds like the temperature switch W11103599 has failed. Being an electronic control, there is no way to test it other than replacing it. Do not throw the old one away so if it is good, you can return it for refund and try the next most likely suspect: the water valve WP3979345.

Hello Paul, You are correct. The wig-wag shifts the unit from agitate to drain. If the solenoids are not energized, the unit will remain in one state. You should first check the wiring to the wig-wags first as these had issues with the wiring breaking, shorting, and burning in the connector at the main top. If the voltage, (120Vac), is reaching the wig-wag solenoids and they are not energizing, you can change the wig-wag with confidence that it will resolve the issue. Many wig-wags have been changed needlessly because of a wiring issue.
