One day last week there was a "bang-sproing" sound, and now the door falls to the full open position. Figuring that the door spring mechanism had broken, I call the repair guy. He tested the door weight, and showed me that it did not quite fall freely. He also opened the toe panel, and showed me with a flashlight that both springs and cables were intact. He had no explanation for why the door would no longer stay in the 2-inch open position, but declared that it was normal. Where do I go from here?
