Hello Scott, what you are describing is the water level float switch and it protrudes through a fitting in the bottom of the tub. Water should no be able to leak down through it, if it does that indicates there is a lot of turbulent water in the tub during wash cycle, that is usually caused by misdirected water jets from cracked/worn spray arms or their mountings, also the rear wall mounted water supply tube for the rack mounted spray arm may be loose where it connects to the rear of the sump outlet cover.

Cesar, The seal is not available as a separate part and you would need to get the sump for the unit to get the seal.

Hello Randy, If your model number is actually KUDE20IXSS1, you should run a diagnostic test mode to determine the failing component. To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following while in standby: ¦ Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between keys. ¦ The Service Diagnostics Cycle will start when the door is closed.

Paul, You will want to check down inside the pump assembly to ensure that there is nothing in the pump that would cause it from draining. Also check the drain hose to ensure that it is not clogged. If this checks ok then check power to the drain pump. If there is 120 vac to the drain pump then the drain pump would be faulty and if there is no power then the control board will be the issue.

Not really a question, but a follow-up. I received my Sump, pn - W10168822, and proceeded to replace in the DW. Fortunately after shutting off power at the circuit breaker, disconnecting the drain hose and unplugging all applicable wire connectors, the entire assembly can be removed from the inside of the DW without pulling the DW from the cabinet. It should be noted that the clamps that came with the replacement pump are of the same diameter. This presented a problem because the two hoses required to be disconnected and reconnected during remove and replace of the sump are two different diameters. Thus one hose is too large for the clamp provided and the original clamps were of the crimp style. I was fortunate to salvage the old larger clamp and reuse it but I was lucky: no leaks. I informed Kyle of customer service of this issue. Please notify your supplier and inform them that the kit that accompanies the sump requires one of the clamps to be approx 3/8 to 1/2 " longer in circumference than the clamp provided. Hose clamps available at typical auto or hardware stores are too wide. They need to be about 5/16" wide for this application. Other than the clamp fiasco, the job was not too difficult. It took about 1-1/2 hrs plus 30 minutes wasted fiddling with the clamp. Please post this comment on your website for others who plan to replace this part on their dishwasher.

Thank you for the comment Alan. Looking at the photos, it shows the clamps being 2 different sizes. I'm not sure why yours came with them being the same size. Good job being able to use the old clamp. Sorry about that.

I am replacing my sump on my Kenmore Elite Dishwasher. The sump (part #W10168822) came with two hose clamps to replace the factory installed crimped clamps on the pump and motor assembly. However, they sent me two clamps the same size, when the hoses are clearly not the same size. I'm looking for a quarter inch wide hose clamp 1 3/4" to 2" diameter. It has to be quarter inch wide to fit in the channel of the hose. Do you carry any clamps this size?
