For Whirlpool Oven High Limit Thermostat (Part Number: OEM18028179)

Steve for Model Number KEBK101BSS01

The oven control panel displayed "Err F2E0 Keyboard Connect" after cooking. For a first try I turned off power to the oven for a few minutes (at circuit breaker) then turned power back on. The control panel remained dark and none of the control buttons were effective. Then I turned off power to the oven for 20 minutes then restored power and the oven control panel became functional again. After the next use of the oven it displayed the same error again. This time I had to cycle power off for several hours until it resumed working. After the next use the error appeared again and it would not reset until several days of power off. It now displays the time but I haven't used it yet for cooking. Any suggestions for further diagnosis or repair would be greatly appreciated.

Steve, based on the information provided, the failure is most likely with the user interface control OEM18072071.

Mike, It sounds like there may be an issue with the gas valve for the griddle and would need to be replaced.

Hello Mike, If the unit is heating but not to the proper temperature it indicates that the bake element is only getting 120Vac instead of 240Vac as it should. If both sides of the breaker "make" properly, (flip the breaker off then back on to be sure), this can be caused by the temperature limiter WP4449751 or the control board W10550509.

Mike, the cooling fans will operate when either oven is in operation so that they can keep the electronics from overheating. However, if the convection fan is operating when preheat temperatures have been achieved, then the failure would be in the relay control board WPW10317343.

Hello, I had an issue with lower oven getting too and maintaining proper temperature. I pulled out the broiler heating element to get to the temp sender to check its value. Temp sender tested ok (got 1100 ohms). When I put broiler element back in, I was fighting with the wires, and one bunched up behind the bracket and shorted out. I pulled the oven out, placed new heat shrink on wire (continuity was ok) and put back together. I cant get oven lower oven to heat in either bake or broil mode. No error messages. I also checked continuity of the broiler element when puling apart to fix wire, and checked ok. Before I go replacing board, is there anything else I should check? Could the high temp switch shorted out do to this?

1 Answer

Doron, There is a thermal fuse on the L2 side of the bake and broil element that you will want to test to see if it has continuity. If it does have continuity then the control board will be the issue. If there is no continuity then the issue will be a faulty control board.

Gary, This issue will most likely be caused by a faulty main control board in which the relay would most likely be faulty.
