Dan April 28, 2021 for Model Number WED6200SW1 Hello, I have a problem on my dryer WED6200SW1. The problem is that it keeps blowing the thermal fuse. I have done everything I can as follows: 1. Clean the whole dryer (inside), and fan, blowing house.... 2. installed brand new OEM fuse and thermistor 3. leave the exhaust unhooked (to make sure the pipe is not clogged).... However, the fuse is keeping blown out (even though the exhaust vent is not connected to the pipe). I have wasted several thermal fuses and I am so angry with it. Please help on this. Thank you so much
1 Answer Dan, based on the information provided, it would be recommended that the element 279838 is tested for continuity to the element housing. If there is continuity, it would need to be replaced. If not, it would be likely that the main control WPW10111617 is not cycling the element properly and causing the unit to overheat. Read More...
Mike March 12, 2021 for Model Number WED7000DW1 TROUBLE: Keeps blowing my Thermal Fuse WP3392519.. I cleaned out the Exhaust Path and it is totlly clear. This will be the 3rd Thermal Fuse in less than 3 days. What could be causing this Extreme Heat buildup.....to blow my Thermal Fuse constantly.
1 Answer Mike, In most cases, the cycling thermostat is not cycling the heater and that is where the high temps are coming from .WP8577274 Read More...
Brian March 10, 2021 for Model Number MEDX6STBW1 Last June I replaced the thermal fuse in my dryer. Yesterday it blew again. Today I checked the vent. No blockage. Good air flow to the outside of the house. Replaced the thermal fuse. Heating element isn't shorted out. I watched it cycle on and off. The thermal fuse blew again in the middle of the first load of laundry. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Brian, it would be recommended that the lint filter vent is checked for lint building up around where the thermal fuse WP3392519 rests. Lint can build up in this area and retain heat which could potentially cause it to fail. It is also recommended that the blower wheel WP694089 is checked for any broken fins or lint build-up. John March 07, 2021 for Model Number 110.78837700 I need to replace the thermal fuse on this dryer but the back panel on this model is welded in place and I can't find any advice, videos, or pictures showing how to get to the fuse ... can you provide any advice? I assume an answer will be via email. Thanks
1 Answer John, the thermal fuse WP3392519 would be accessed from the front of this model. With the dryer power cord unplugged, there will be a panel at the very bottom that is held in by two clips at the top. Using a putty knife, the clips can be unlocked (one at each corner) so that the top of the panel can rotate forward and the panel can then be lifted up. The thermal fuse would then be located at the top of the blower housing. There should be a 1/4" hex head screw securing the fuse to the blower housing that would be removed. Read More...
Janice Keffer January 30, 2021 for Model Number WED4815EW1 My timer won’t advance, we replaced the dryer cycling thermostat, but it still won’t advance. I ordered a dryer thermal fuse, is that going to fix it ?
1 Answer Janice, You will want to open your control panel and test at the timer motor for 120 Vac. If there is a proper 120 vac then the issue will be the timer. Read More...
Ron Dean January 18, 2021 for Model Number GEQ9800PW1 My electric dryer does not heat my bath towels in one cycle. I have to dry them at least 2 times. I have cleaned all the lint and checked everything else. I just ordered a dryer thermal fuse but not received it yet. It does seem to have a lot of heat.
1 Answer Ron D, Based on the description it sounds like a possible air flow issue, maybe a plugged or collapsed vent. you can check this by pulling the dryer away from the wall, disconnect the vent and run a load with it off to see if it is air flow or a problem with the dryer. Read More...
Butch January 06, 2021 for Model Number 110.67132411 kenmore electric dryer When I turn my dryer to on and I have the back panel taken off, I can see the heating element turn off and on but the clothes takes 2 hrs. to dry a load. I have installed a new complete vent pipe so there is no lint in the line. I also did a continuity check on the hi-limit thermostat and the dryer thermal fuse. Both have continuity and my volt meter will buzz. I also did a dyer thermistor continuity check which it read 12 ohms. Why is my dryer taking so long to dry the clothes? Can a thermostat read continuity and but work intermittently? Which parts should I order to repair my problem?
1 Answer Butch, It is possible that one of the thermostats could have gone bad but would be looking for an issue with the heating element being faulty. Read More...
Bill December 30, 2020 for Model Number MEDE300VW0 I have an F01 error on my Maytag 3000 Series dryer, will replacing the dryer thermal fuse fix this error?
1 Answer Bill, The F01 error code would indicate a primary control board failure in which the main board would need to be replaced. The part number for the main control board is WPW10174745. Read More...
Goslin December 20, 2020 for Model Number MEDC400WV0 Can you hook wires together to see if the fuse is a problem, just to test if it will heat?
1 Answer Goslin, While the wires can be hooked together for testing only it is not recommended and you will never want to leave them like that because you would be bypassing a safety device. Read More...
Francisco December 14, 2020 If you turn off the gas to the dryer to replace a part do you have to re-ignite the dryer for the burner to work again?
1 Answer Francisco, generally, a burner on a dryer would not need to be re-ignited manually as it should ignite on its own. Read More...
