Kenneth, The thermistor for this unit is showing to be part number W10316760 but would recommend checking the damper to make sure that it is not stuck open which is more common for this issue.

Hello Megster, the fault code refers to the ice maker not getting cold enough to cycle. This is an airflow or freezer temperature cooling problem. Start by running the test mode for test 1 freezer thermistor, if 01 then run test 36 ice maker fan, you should feel a good breeze coming out of the ice maker front, lastly, check freezer temperature, should be between 0-5 deg.

Hi, my freezer is operating fine, but the refrigerator is no longer cool, i pulled everything apart and there was a lot of ice buildup around the evap, all the way up to the evap fan - freezing it stuck. Using a multi-meter i measured across the pins (diagonal to each other) and there were 14 volts DC. I purchased a new factory fan, installed it and it still doesn't run when i power on the fridge. After three days there's a large accumulation of ice buildup over the evap again (fan still not running). i melted the ice with a hair dryer looking for the de-icer but couldn't find it anywhere, i was able to see the de-icer on the freezer evap, but not the refrigerator evap. I then measured the impedance on the thermisistor to be a value of 2.75 kohms at room temperature (76 degrees), but was unable to find an impedance chart. What are the next steps i should take to fix this 2 year old fridge? Thanks!

Hello HDT, the evaporator fan motors are a PWM type, (low voltage variable speed). Trace the red, tan and especially the yellow (PMW signal) wires back through the harness to where they enter the sidewall liner, look for any breaks or loose terminals. The fresh food compartment evaporator coil uses an air defrost using the fan motor. The thermistor tested correctly.

Hello David, the diffuser is controlled by the rear main control board. It is cycled open for cooling the fresh food section and closes once the correct temperature is reached. If it is constantly cycling open/closed then the diffuser's internal switch is faulty. Repair part is W10814173 Diffuser assembly.

I have a fridge Maytag, the top section( fridge), its evap has a lots of ice build, it closes the vent of evap by ice and no cool air come out, the fridge section become warm. The lower section, the freezer working good, only the fridge section build ice on it, I turn off the fridge for many hours to let the ice melt and start it again, it works good for a couple of weeks and start to accumulate ice again. Would you please advise what kind of parts I need to buy.

Hoobi, There is a defrost thermostat and heater on the refrigerator evaporator that you would need to test for continuity. If they check ok then the control board would be the issue.

Hi, I am looking for 2 things for my fridge: - Thermistor W10316760: do you have the temperature vs resistance chart available so I can test whether I have a defective Thermistor? - Do you know what the defrost cycle time should be for this fridge? My compressor runs for about 21 mins, then shuts down for about 10 mins before starting again. Cycle timing is consistent for the 3 hours I measured on separate days. I read that the defrost shouldn't kick in until at least 6+ hours of run time? Fridge has ADC. If the 21 mins on/10 mins off cycle is incorrect, do you have info on replacing the timer? I could not find the part on the Sears parts diagrams. Problem: Freezer stays at about 21F and Fridge at 51F

Michael, 5. 3 K@5O 'F , 8. 8K@32 ' F, 2 5. 9 K@4 ' F are the readings for the thermistor.
