Ed June 14, 2012 for Model Number et8ftkxkt01 My fresh food side is set to 5 (maximum cold) and im only getting it down to 40°F. My freezer side is set to 3 (normal) and is getting down to 0-2 degress F, which I think is good on that side, but I know fridge is not, items in door like mayo feel like room temperature. I appreciate any help you can give me as to point me in the direction of the correct part to order from you. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Ed, First off, check the back wall in the freezer for a frost build-up. If there is a frost build-up, you have a defrost issue. If not, this is still an air flow issue, so the diffuser 2200793 and the evaporator fan WP4389142 should be checked. For that matter, there could be an item in the fresh food compartment blocking the air inlet into the fresh food compartment. If the freezer compartment is holding proper temperature, it has to be an air flow issue. This design is notorious for the defrost drain stopping up and filling the diffuser with an ice build-up. Be aware that the diffuser and a couple of other parts are Styrofoam and are easily damaged. Use a hair dryer to get them out if an ice build-up is present. This is rather time consuming because you can't use the hottest setting on the hair dryer because this will damage the Styrofoam material which is detrimental to proper air flow. This in turn directly affects the achieved temperatures. Read More...

Carolyn June 27, 2011 for Model Number et19nkxfw04 How do I install a new thermostat for the bottom part of the frig?
1 Answer Hello Carolyn. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the control knobs off the thermostat controls. Remove the screw holding the control panel in place and lower the control panel down. Unplug the wires to the thermostat WP2200859. Remove the screws holding the thermostat in place. Some models use clips to hold the thermostat in place. If so, release the clips and remove the thermostat. Pay attention to how the cap tube from the thermostat is run inside the control panel. Remove the plastic cover off the cap tube and install it onto the new thermostat. Reinstall everything in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
