William December 29, 2015 for Model Number 106.8472481 Kemore side by side refrigerator is freezing food in the crisper drawer at the lowest temperature setting. Adjusting the temperature control does not seem to make any difference in the refrigerator side. Ice cream in the freezer side is frozen solid. Temperature in the refrigerator side hovering at about 32 degrees any temperature control setting. Any suggestions ?
1 Answer William, Several suggestions, first check the air difuser in the top left side wall of the refrigerator compartment, make sure it's not stuck open, and operates properly, check and make sure there are no articles hanging over the front or sides of the shelves or laying against the walls, this can interrupt or redirect the air flow and "trap" the air in the lower area of the compartment. Also check the air return tubes and vents on the left wall of the refrigerator, Check the air control setting to the meat drawer (if equipped) too much air to the crisper/meat drawer pan will cause things to freeze as well. Dave February 21, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool refrigerator, 1994, model ET18DKXBN01 The refrigerator section of our 19-year old refrigerator suddenly started freezing the food. Freezer section also seems to have gone hyper-cold. I have replaced the bimetal defrost thermostat (Whirlpool 4387503) and the defrost timer kit (EAP376605), but this has not helped. The control knob works, as when switched to OFF the box will turn off. Any suggestions?

Susan September 29, 2012 for Model Number 106 8566882 I am having problems with the refrigerator side.Refrigerator side seem to be no air coming out of vent in refrigerator at the top inside of refrigerator.It is turn up on 5 the high seting for being cold.The temp of refrigerator is 47 to 50 degree inside.The frozen side is 0 to 5 degree.We have check the timer defrost out with the ohm meter and no frost is on back panel.Could the problem be a bad cold control in refrigerator.Part number AP3103397 cold control.Air flow control part.Location in front of the defrost timer in refrigerator.
1 Answer Hello Susan. Check and see if there is any frost on the back wall of the freezer. If so, It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer.
