Erich May 14, 2012 for Model Number EB22RKXXW00 There was no wiring diagram provided for the cold control and this is not an exact replacement for the old one. Can anyone tell me which terminal is for power from the wall, and which is the output terminal to the compressor? The original part, the source power was the top terminal and the output was the bottom one. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Erich. Looking at the control WP819470 in the photo, the wall power is the bottom and the compressor is the top terminal. Read More...
Erich May 09, 2012 for Model Number EB22RKXXW00 My original thermostat quit working and I installed this new one. I hooked the wires up (all three) and within 1 second of plugging it in, it fried. There's clearly a rattling inside the control now as well as a burnt electrical smell. The power into the control is a constant 120v (as I believe it should be). Did I get a defective control, or is there potentially something else going on? Thanks in advance!
1 Answer Hello Erich, Something is shorted to ground or this would not have occurred. With the unit unplugged, use a test meter TJMA-DMT3 to chase the circuit to locate the ground. There's a good chance that one of the hot wires is contacting the temperature tube on the temperature control. Drop the control again and make sure nothing is contacting the spade terminals. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html. Paul J. October 09, 2011 for Model Number EHD261MM Freezer sections appears to be operating fine, but the refrigerater section is not getting cold enough to maintain cold temperature.
1 Answer Hi Paul. Is the condenser fan motor turning fine, part # 833697. Is the condenser coils plugged? Coil cleaning brush part # is TJ103. Is the center divider Hot or regularly warm. If really hot- then the previous statement is true. Is the evaporator fan turning up to speed? Part # is 482469. If these parts are OK, then the cold control has a "dead-spot" and cannot regulate the compressor run time as usual. Part # is WP819470. Thank You. Read More...
Rob June 25, 2011 for Model Number 253.51699105 Freezer is not getting cold enough ice cream isn't solid. I noticed the refrig is running all the time. I also noticed that the wall that divides the frig from freezer is very warm I appreciate if you can give me some guidance on this
1 Answer Rob, First thing you need to do is, roll the refrigerator away from the wall. Unplug the power cord and remove the access cover on the lower portion of the back panel. Vacuum, and clean out all the lint, fuzz and debris, that has accumulated on all the components and the area. Plug the power cord back into the outlet and check the condenser cooling fan for proper high speed operation 240334002. You're not transferring heat properly, and getting irratic temperatures and a warm mullion strip, due to poor compressor compartment air circulation. Thanks, and Good Luck. Read More...
Brian B. June 04, 2011 for Model Number EET-172PK The refrigerator part is freezing things with control unit set to lowest setting and flapper door set to coldest freezer setting. Is this thermostat control the only thing to cause this?
1 Answer Hello Brian. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the cold control WP819470 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Bill, the control should read closed at room temperature. You can put the rod into a cup of ice and after a few minutes you should get a open reading. Think of it as a light switch. When it's warm the light is on, when it's cold the light is off. Hope this helps! Read More...
