Roger May 13, 2012 for Model Number ET6JTKXKQOO The freezer works great, refrigerator is at 50 to 60 degrees. I assume the thermostat/switch is bad. Also, the fan is running in the freezer.
1 Answer Hello Roger, This sounds like a defrost issue to me. This model will either have a bad defrost thermostat, WP4387490, or a bad defrost timer WP2183400. It isn't impossible for the defrost heater to fail, but this one is a calrod type and they fail much less often than the glass tube type. Let me explain why because of your assumption about thinking it was the thermostat. If the thermostat were the issue, the freezer compartment would also be warm. As it stands, since the fresh food gets its' cold from shared air from the freezer compartment, it has to be an air flow issue between the two compartments. This points at the defrost circuit because it's the defrost circuits' job to keep the frost cleared from the cold coils so air can pass through them in the process of circulating the air from one compartment to the other, (freezer to fresh food compartment). Pat July 14, 2011 for Model Number RT14BKXKQ03 I have my temperature set below 1, and the fridge box is getting colder than 32. Once the unit does shut off it lets the units temperature raise more than 8 degrees before it kicks back on, whats my problem?
1 Answer Hi Pat. Your refergerator temperature controls ,part # is WPW10567140, has a temperature sensor capillary. You should prove well by replacing this part. Thank you. Read More...
