Brian February 12, 2024 for Model Number 10662152111 The fresh food section in my fridge is freezing food and drink items. The condenser coils were really dirty so I cleaned them up good but the problem remains. It has been a week since I cleaned the coils. Does this sound like a thermostat problem? Thanks.
1 Answer Brian, This issue will most likely be caused by a faulty operating thermostat part number WPW10584888. Read More...
Ken June 29, 2022 for Model Number M1TXEGMYQ00 Refrigerator section is 58 degrees Top freezer is 40 degrees. Small pattern build up at the right corner on evaporator. I did replaced the defrost thermostat. Ice maker is not making ice. Compressor running. Evaporator fan running. Condenser fan running. Thermostat control recommended setting but some time it making clicking noise. I have vacuumed off condenser coil. Check sealed system look good. Any suggestion? Thank you.
1 Answer Ken, If there is only a small section of frost on the evaporator and the compressor is running, then this will be a sealed system issue in which a service technician will be required to repair it. Read More...
Wbrunc January 21, 2022 for Model Number wbrunc@yahoo.com Water dripping down into the refrigerator's cold cut drawer. Removed freezer back panel. Ice on freezer floor and ice/frost on lower evaporator coils. The model is Kenmore 106.62154111.
1 Answer Wbrunc, You will want to clean out all the ice from the floor of the freezer and flush the drain with hot water. Once this is done you can install a heat probe kit 819043 that will help keep the drain from freezing. Read More...
Alan November 25, 2019 for Model Number M1TXEGMYS01 Refrigerator section is 55 degrees Top freezer is 42 degrees. No frost pattern or build up on evaporator. Compressor running Evaporator fan running Condenser fan running Thermostat control set to recommended setting. I have vacuumed off condenser coils Any suggestions would be appreciated. This fridge is only seven years old Thank you.
1 Answer Alan, the thermostat is what turns the fans and compressor on and off. In your situation, they are running so the thermostat is not the problem. Anytime your compressor is running, you should have a frost pattern on the evaporator. It sounds like you have a sealed system problem, possibly a leak or inefficient compressor. Read More...
Joe November 24, 2019 for Model Number Kenmore R/F, 106,621152111 I was away from home for a few days and when I returned home I had noticed that there had been a power outage 36 hours prior to my return. The refrigerator was not operating. The refrigerator section was cool (not at normal temperature); the freezer section was above freezing and some items still had some ice in the packages but the liquid in the containers had thawed. Power was available to the Kenmore R/F so I rapped on the controls housing cover and the R/F started up & running. The R/F spaces cooled to near normal temperatures but I had to set the thermostat control to a slightly cooler setting to get normal temperatures. The R/F operated normally overnight but then I found it not running the next day and warming up again. I checked the compressor/condenser compartment for possible problems - none observed. With the power off, I opened the control panel compartment in the refrigerator section and examined the components (i.e. Adaptive Defrost module, Thermostat, etc.). I removed the Adaptive Defrost Control (PC) board examined it and wrote down the part numbers for reference. I did not see any anomalies concerning the PC board or T-stat. My concern is that the expensive Adaptive Defrost PC board may have been damaged (but no burn marks noticed on the PC board) during the power outage (perhaps a voltage spike occurrence). There is a "Sanyou" relay mounted on the PC board. If there is a problem with the relay, is the relay replaceable (available) rather than purchase a complete Adaptive Defrost Control - relays are generally much less expensive? Thanks in advance for any advice rendered.
1 Answer Hello Joe, the cold control and the adaptive defrost board both control running/cooling in this model, Power goes from the board to the cold control, as far as the board, the relay contacts may be worn however the board is replaced as a single part, there are no components available for a board repair. Mike June 09, 2016 for Model Number wrt138fzdw The refrigerator compartment is freezing food. I turned down the temp and it did not fix the issue.
1 Answer Hello Mike. Check the thermistor and make sure it ohms out good. If not, replace the thermistor WPW10383615. If it is good, then replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Francisco L September 07, 2014 for Model Number wRT1L1TZYW01 My refrigerator is not cold enough and my freezer sometimes work fine and sometimes is not freeze enough.
1 Answer Francisco, It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Stan K July 02, 2013 for Model Number M1TXEGMY Refrigerator is too cold and freezer is too warm. Refridge temp is around 33 degrees and the freezer is around 15 degrees, moving temperature control does not make the fridge any warmer but makes the freezer get warmer.
1 Answer Hello Stan. Make sure the condenser fan motor is running and the coils are clean. If not, replace the motor and clean the coils. If so, it sounds like an HVAC sealed system issue, and you will need an HVAC tech. Read More...
