Dennis S for Model Number MDB8959SBB3

I noticed that the original upper left track was missing seven ball bearings based on the number of open slots. I recovered 5 of 7; some were in the "tub" at the bottom of the washer. Next I removed the "Filter Assembly" and looked into the "Sump Housing" to look for the other two but to no avail. Hoping that if they passed further into the machine they would eventually discharge during the next wash so I decided to take a chance and proceed with the repair. I purchased both upper tracks from you and completed the repairs. Reconnected everything and tested the machine. Once it started I could hear the "ping" of what I believe to be the two ball bearings. Would you think that they will ultimately exit the machine through the discharge line or possibly do more damage? If necessary, where would you suggest I begin to look for them in the dishwasher? Obviously my next concern is that if they do exit on their own they will empty onto my garbage disposal, another potential problem. Great service and videos from Appliance Parts Pro. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Dennis Sullivan

Dennis, This issue would become worse if the bearings are not retrieved. You will need to remove the filter, accumulator and remove the inlet protector and get where the drain pump is to locate the bearings that fell into the assembly.

Hello Shelly, appliance parts are model specific, we would need the dishwasher's model number to locate the correct part for you. The tag number you gave is for the tag itself.

Tb, The original tracks have been discontinued and replaced with the W11259785 / W11259785 Left Hand Track and W11259786 / W11259786 Right Hand Track. There isn't a way to properly/safely limit the travel on the tracks. You'll want to order the left hand track to make the tracks operate properly. Thanks,

Ray, The track assembly(s) are sold as complete units W11259785 Left side track, and W11259786 Right side track. On order to repair the track, the assembly will need to be replaced. You'll need to remove power to the dishwasher, remove the dishwasher from the cabinet opening, then remove the upper rack(it may be easier to remove the rack first). Once the dishwasher is accessible, you'll need to partially remove the insulation blanket from the sides of the tub. Find and remove the four(4) 1/4 inch hex head #10 X 1/2 in. screws, per track( remove the rear screws first, then the front, so you can hold the track assembly) Reverse the procedure, and check the right side track screws and tighten if necessary. Reinstall the unit and check for operation and leaks.
