The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher during the fill cycles. This valve ensures that the dishwasher receives the correct amount of water needed for washing and rinsing dishes effectively.

You should replace the water inlet valve if it becomes faulty. Causes of a bad water inlet valve can include wear and tear from regular use, mineral buildup from hard water, or electrical issues. A malfunctioning valve can lead to improper water flow, affecting the dishwasher’s performance and potentially causing water leaks.

Symptoms of a bad water inlet valve include:

  • The dishwasher not filling with water or filling slowly
  • Water leaking from the valve area
  • Dishes not being cleaned properly due to insufficient water
  • The dishwasher making unusual noises during the fill cycle

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM18067017)

Kevin W for Model Number 10672134100

I am looking for a water intake valve for a Kenmore refrigerator I beliece I want part number 2210516. You sent me info and a video for a #2188784 which has a xref to 2210515. Would this part substitute for the 2210516.? My refrigerator is 10 years old. perhaps this is just an update to the part number. I can't help but notice that mine does not connect directly to the water supply line from the wall (as shown in your video) .That connection is made to a separate valve on the lower right side of the ref. Another line takes the water over to the 2210516 which is mounted on the lower left and distributes the water to the water dispenser and the icemaker after going to and from the filter. thanks for your help.

Hello Wally. The purpose is the filter on the unit. The single valve goes to the filter and then from the filter to the dual so that both the ice and dispenser water is filtered on the unit.
