This valve controls the flow of water into the appliance. When energized, it opens to let the correct amount of water in; when de-energized, it closes to stop flow—restoring proper fill and dependable operation. What it does:

  • Opens and closes to regulate incoming water during operation
  • Helps maintain correct fill levels for cycles
  • Common symptoms of a failing valve: no fill or slow fill, error codes related to water supply, dripping/leaks from the valve area, or humming/clicking with little to no water flow
What's included:
  • 1 valve assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Place a towel to catch residual water and relieve line pressure
  • Label and transfer hoses/wires one at a time; reuse existing hardware/fittings
  • Restore water and power, then check all connections for leaks and run a test cycle

For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM14940561)

Michael for Model Number WTW6600SW1

I have a whirlpool cabrio washer. When the washer is turned on a small amount of water comes into the machine at the beginning of the cycle, then lid locks, washer continues through cycle but no more water comes into the machine. The are no fault codes on the control panel. I called customer service last week and was told that it sounds like the valve, so I ordered part and when it arrived I put it on my machine, but this did not help. I also posted this question on the forum and was told it sounds like the control board. I returned the valve and ordered the control board, it arrived today and I replaced the old control board but the problem still exist. Is there anything else I should try to resolve this problem?

Hello Michael. Check and see if the inner basket is moving up and down on the shaft of the unit. If not, and the basket is up, the washer will not fill anymore on the unit. Also, blow through the pressure hose and make sure it is not clogged. Hope this helps.

Hello Michael. Make sure the washer is draining properly and the inner basket is moving up and down the shaft freely. If so, it sounds like the control board WPW10189966 is bad and will need to be replaced. Be sure and blow through the pressure hose befor hooking it to the control board. Hope this helps.

Hi Dave. The LF code is a low fill. The screens on the back of the inlet valve is clogged w/ debris and not allowing proper fill. The water valve is part # W10372095. Make sure the soap dispenser cup and caps are clean so the detergent can siphon correctly up the inner cap sides and throughout the holes. Thank You.

Hello George. You will want to open the control panel and access the machine control board WPW10189966. On this unit, they have a clear hose that you will need to remove and blow into. You should be able to blow into the hose without any resistance, if you have resistance you will have to locate the clog on the tube. If the tube is okay, you will have to replace the machine control board WPW10189966. Hope this helps!
