This water inlet valve regulates the flow of household water into the refrigerator for ice making and dispensing. Replacing a failing valve restores proper fill and helps resolve leaks, low flow, and no-ice/no-dispense issues. What it does:

  • Opens and closes to supply water to the ice maker and/or dispenser when energized by the control
  • Addresses symptoms like no water at the dispenser, no ice production, slow fill/hollow cubes, or dripping/leaks at the valve area
  • Common failures include stuck or leaking valve, clogged screen, or a failed solenoid coil
  • Helps eliminate valve buzzing with no fill when the coil is energized but the valve won't open
What's included:
  • 1 water inlet valve assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Keep towels/containers handy; some residual water will drain when lines are removed
  • Note and label each tube and wire position; transfer any fittings/brackets from the old valve if applicable
  • After installation, restore water and power, check all connections for leaks, and purge air by dispensing water

M, The extreme water temperatures could present a minor issue with the water temperature in the tub, but it will not affect the overall fill time. Your first check and repair, should be to flush the cold water supply and faucet, remove and clean, or replace the hose screened washer and screen in the water valve inlet. If you still have a water temperature problem, you're going to need the water temperature sensor switch WPW10248240. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Billy. Here is a repair video link to help you change the water valve WPW10175893. The only difference will be the panel clips. They remove screws for the control panel, and your model number has clips under the front corners. You will use a flat blade putty or butter knife to remove them. Press in on the clips and flip the control panel backwards. Hope this helps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgmH5vWRGj8
