Michele December 31, 2012 for Model Number W10175893 I think I need to replace the inlet valve on my maytag washer, but I the valves are testing ok on the meter, but the valve charge are the black part and that connect to the tube does not test ok. That means that that part is bad and I should go ahead and order the part correct? Thanks!
1 Answer Michele, Yes, you'll need to replace the fill valve WPW10175893 if the resistance of the thermistor(inside the black portion of the valve) is out of range or an "open" or "closed" circuit on your meter. Read More...
Kazzandra December 01, 2012 for Model Number MVWC5ESXW0 My Maytag washing machine model # MVWC5ESXW0 will only spin. Unit will not fill with water or agitate. I tried all the cycles and I found out that in HEAVY DUTY cycle, before the first rinsing area, it agitate for few minutes ( by the way, I manually put water in it because I thought maybe its just the water problem). It also drain and spin. Can you pls. help me to find out what the problem is or is there any parts that I need to purchase. I just can't afford calling a repairman now, after being hit by super storm Sandy.
1 Answer Hello Kazzandra, The first thing that you want to do is to check the screens on the water valve WPW10175893 to make sure that they are not clogged up. Clogged water valve will not allow the unit to agitate. The pressure switch has to be satisfied before the unit can agitate. Also check to make sure that you are getting power to the water valve when the unit is calling for water. Should be 120vac to the water valve. Read More...

Chris May 13, 2012 for Model Number mvwc6esww1- maytag when my washer starts to fill, it is like it gets confused, it will start and stop until i fill the washer with water from the sink, it also does this on the rinse cycle. any ideas
1 Answer Chris, The first thing to do, make sure you have plenty of both hot and cold water supplied to the washer from the faucets and hoses. Then replace the Sensor Switch WPW10248240. The switch controls both the fill level and the water temperature. If the circuitry develops an issue, you will experience irratic water temperatures, and water valve operation. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

Bill December 09, 2011 for Model Number 11029822800 My Kenmore washer does nothing on all settings. Won't fill, agitate or spin. I bypassed the lid switch and nothing. I checked power. Any suggestions ?
1 Answer Hi Bill. The timer has separate 2-pin connector going to it. These leads supply the timer voltage to operate the timer motor. These connections have been known to get loose or bad. Ohm out the timer motor to make sure it is not op. (0-ohms). The timer is part # [W10187167]. There is a sensor switch part # [W10177795] that you can jump the wht/red and the yellow/red and start the cycle and see if the cold water comes in. If it does then jump the wht/red wire to the tan/red wires so the hot water fills momentarily. If this is the case then you know both valves are OK, and the sensor switch part needs replaced. Thank You. Read More...
Ken October 25, 2011 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 In one of your previous answers, you referred to a "sensor switch" (p/n AP4501024). I cannot locate that sensor on the diagrams. However, it looks a lot like the Load Level Switch/Temp. Sensor Switch (p/n AP4459660).
1 Answer Hello Ken. Based on the model number you provided, WPW10248240 is the sensor switch. It is located in the control panel, and the pressure hose attaches to it. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ken October 25, 2011 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 My Maytag Centennial washer won't fill up with water. If I remove the wires from the water valve (I only did this on the "cold" valve) I get 110 volts on the wires, but when I plug the wires back on to the valve it goes to zero. Neither the hot or cold water work.
1 Answer Hello Ken. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the sensor switch WPW10248240 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Lazaro L. September 22, 2011 for Model Number mvwc6esww1 I just bought a timer from you for my washer. I installed the part in the washer. Everything works but no water comes out at all. This was the orig. problem and the timer contacts were burnt too. I am still not getting any water. Can you tell me what else may wrong with my washer?
1 Answer Hi Lazaro. You will need to replace the water valve part # is WPW10175893. If you unhook your hoses from the rear of the cabinet and flush them out in a bucket. Then look into the backside of the warter valve to see if the screen is plugged. Flush out the screerns as best as you can and it may work until you get the water valve. Thank you. Read More...
