Manufacturer Part Number: WP22002437

This water inlet valve regulates the flow of water into the washer tub and dispenser compartments. When it wears or sticks, the machine may fill improperly or at the wrong times; replacing it restores controlled filling and dispensing. What it does:

  • Directs hot/cold water to the tub and dispenser channels as selected by the control.
  • Uses four solenoids to open/close individual water paths during fill and rinse.
  • Common symptoms: won't fill or fills slowly; keeps filling when off; water drips into tub between cycles; incorrect temperature; a dispenser bay doesn't flush.
  • Addresses internal leaks, stuck or shorted coils, or sediment-clogged inlet screens causing restricted flow.
What's included:
  • Water inlet valve assembly (4 solenoids)
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off both water supplies before servicing.
  • Place a towel to catch residual water; note hose locations and relieve pressure before removal.
  • Move electrical connectors to the matching terminals one at a time; transfer hoses securely.
  • Open supply valves and check all connections for leaks; run a fill cycle to operation.

For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (4-Coil) (Part Number: OEM18018888)

Stumped By Neptune for Model Number MHW2000AWW

Years ago I replaced the R11 (wax motor fail) upon hooking up wax motor the R11 got warm, so disconnected motor. I put a popsicle stick (3 thick) to hold the spin switch closed. It ran for years but had to turn off manually after cycle. New problem: Timer won't advance and won't spin cycle. I checked the water valves to find cold plugged with sediment. I checked Ohms on water inlet thermistor and reads open. On the mother board R43 is burnt. I did phase check on washer motor read OK and inspected motor board found good fuse and no burnt parts. Any ideas?

Stumped by neptune, If you have a burnt resistor on the control board you will want to replace the control board on the unit. By doing this it will also correct the issue of the R11 getting hot.

Hello Wayne. Check and make sure the water valve screens are clear from debris. If you have hose screens check them as well. Also check the unbalanced load switches and make sure they are ok, and the wires going to them are not broken. If all of this checks good, then the valve may be the problem. Hope this helps.
